Gunshots, screams, blood.

A tall boy with subtle features on his face ran and ran without stopping. He huffed for breath yet he knew he couldn’t stop now because stopping now means—death.

He could see the mansion standing tall in front of him as his feets finally relaxed a bit. He placed his hands on his knees and took in deep breaths through his mouth. He has to keep pushing, there is no other way.

He scanned the area left and right and inhaled a deep breath. He rushed inside pushing the white marble door open. Before moving forward he made sure he locked the door behind. The door that remains open for everyone at all times needs to be locked now.

He looked over the entire mansion with desperate eyes. He cannot look back now, he needs to protect something that’s extremely precious to him—them.

“Hyung? What’s wrong?” A sweet baby-like voice asked with concern, lacking his young features.

“W-Why..” The taller boy among the two huffed and then stopped to inhale a longer breath before he continued.

“Why are y-you alone? Where are the others?” The boy couldn’t help but feel worry run through his veins.

“I am not alone? Everyone is here but I was playing in the living room.” The younger boy replied as his big round eyes scanned the taller boy’s boyish features. He is extremely familiar to him but he never has seen such worried features on his face before.

“Baby, listen to me okay? This will sound dangerous and you might feel scared but you need to hear me, I am going to protect you.” The taller boy explained as his hands shivered but still he managed to pull the boy safe in his arms—safe at least till he could protect him.

“Hyung, you are already scaring me. Mommy and daddy also left in a hurry in the morning. Now you are behaving like this? What’s going on?” The younger boy couldn’t help but whine out his words. He needed to know why everyone was in such a rush today.

“T-They had some work, b-baby. They will come back soon, yeah? But now you have to pack your bags and come with hyung, okay? We need to leave.” The taller boy explained as his eyes were red, the glossiness still stopping the tears to flow out.

“But mommy always packs for me.” The younger boy mumbled as he pulled an uneven string out of his t-shirt.

“Hyung will help you this time, yeah? We have to leave, baby. Now run to your room and keep all the things you feel are essential on the bed, hyung will come and pack them for you, okay?” The taller boy assured as he ruffled the younger’s already dishevelled hair.

“But where are we going, hyung? Vacation?” The shorter boy couldn’t help but ask with big, shiny eyes.

“Yes baby, a long vacation. Now go okay?” The taller boy chuckled bitterly.

The younger boy nodded his head excitedly and then ran towards his room to get things done as his hyung asked him to do.

The taller boy sighed loudly and then rubbed his eyes with his thumb and forefinger. He feels so helpless. He can’t do anything but run away.

“Namjoon-ah! What’s going on? Why did you ask him to pack his bag? And what vacation?” A good-looking boy with mature features on his face walked in and invaded the taller boy’s space.

“Jin hyung..we need to leave.” The said boy, Namjoon replied as his voice quivered.

“Why? Why do we need to leave? And why did you lock the main door? You know we need to keep it open at all times.” Jin replied as he scanned the taller boy’s worried features with concern.
