A/N: This is like, three different bits I've written separately pieced together. COMPLETELY UNEDITED. I've been waiting to give you all this chapter for a while so I hope you don't mind the messiness of it. I wish it were longer. I may edit it to make it longer in bits you'll be able to see but this is what it is for right now. I hope it's okay. Happy reading lovelies!!!

32//31

Alex wants to be a gentleman and take me out on a proper date. When I asked what that was when he proposed this before his class half an hour ago, I laughed. He didn't, and it was then I realized he was dead serious. So I quit laughing and told him he didn't have to. He wouldn't take it.

"I'll be back around at six," he pecked me lightly on the lips and winked. "Oh, and wear something nice. Love you!"

And then he left.

Dumbass.

It only took him until now to text me with a suggestion.

You should hang out with Olive today. You haven't seen her in a while.

I contemplate this. It's Monday, meaning she only has one class in the morning. Hmm, I might just do that.

Huh... Boyfriends can be useful ;)

His response came back immediately.

And girlfriends can be annoyingly sarcastic...

And then:

I love you, babe. Call Olive! xx

He's such an idiot, I swear. He's right, though. I am annoying, but he always bugs me so I guess I find it okay.

I dial my best friend who I haven't seen or spoken to in what feels like years but has only been a week and a half.

"I thought you'd vanished off the face of the earth! Where the hell have you been?"

How lovely.

"Nice to talk to you too." I roll my eyes. "But no, I still have a month roughly until I vanish for good so you're stuck with me."

There's a pause. "That was insensitive, sorry," she says. I want to tell her that she doesn't need to apologize but I figure it's best not to linger on the issue.

"Plus it's only been over a week. Ten days, max. When we went paintballing, remember? It wasn't that long ago." I don't remember that as the last time I saw my best friend, but the first time I saw Alex as my boyfriend.

Then it occurs to me; have I told Olive that Alex and I are officially dating?

"That's a long time ago! Plus, a lot could have happened since then. Maybe between you and Alex...?" She trails suggestively and I can imagine her wiggling her eyebrows.

Shit. I haven't.

She is going to murder me.

I force a laugh and go to say something, but am cut off.

"I know that laugh. I'm coming over and we're going to go for a little walk. Be ready in 5."

The line goes dead and I grumble; running up to my room to pull on jeans and a top. I only have time to rake a hand through the birds nest I call my hair before Olive is barging into my room.

"Walk. Now."

She's so dramatic. "Don't get your knickers in a knot. I'm coming," I huff, allowing her to practically drag me out of the house. We head past her yellow bug and down the street, the wind stronger than I thought. I should've brought a jacket.
