AUTHOR POV
Now left alone Yeonjun felt his muscles relax, a small moment of tranquillity flowing through his veins once alive with rage.
He gazed to the floor, a pool of Taehyun's blood sitting idly, the crimson liquid shining in the dark.
Suddenly, it was all his eyes could see, kneeling down and setting his hands in it with a sigh of relief. It felt warm, like a glove surrounding a frozen hand on a cold winter's day. Comforting, kind, sweet, beautiful.
"Taehyun was awfully generous leaving me so much, he must know how badly I craved it" Yeonjun whispered as he smiled to himself before slowly lifting his hands to his face, sucking Taehyun's blood from his fingers gently as if he were showing love to a partner.
It was metalic and thick yet so sweet and smooth
He didn't get to do this often, every drop a gift to his twisted heart.
At face value you may wonder, why? He isn't a vampire, he isn't a demon, he is a human, if you are comfortable enough to call him that.
If he doesn't eat, he will starve.
If you cut him, he would bleed.
If you hit him he will bruise.
If he is hurt enough, he will scar.
He feels pain, he feels emotions but only his own. No one else's mattered.
He has skin and flesh, a brain, lungs, a stomach and a heart.
Though, his skin and flesh were concealed as if they were illegal to see, his brain was twisted and distorted, his lungs were filled with self inflicted damage, his stomach craved what it couldn't have and his heart was black and empty apart from the love of deceit, pain, betrayal and Kai.
That's correct, Kai. Whether you think so or not, Yeonjun seemed to believe that he was capable of love after all that he did.
Again correct, you don't really know what he did but at the same time would it matter if you did?
If someone can hold three people in, forcing them to lie, physically and mentally abusing them, manipulating them, isn't that enough to say that his concept of love would be different to most?
At that moment, his mind snapped away, suddenly distracted again only this time it was enrolling Kai to a school.
While Yeonjun wanted him around, he needed time alone to be able to deal with the other three in the house. It would also be a good opportunity for Kai to heighten his knowledge.
While Yeonjun may not seem smart, the boy most definitely is. He has undeniable knowledge, finishing school early as a young prodigy. His memory was eidetic. He could remember images and conversations as if they had just happened. He could read 15 thousand words a minute. He wasn't your average human by any means.
His chosen area of study? None other than a training doctor
Despite this interest, Yeonjun was talented in many things. Acting, literature, languages, maths, biology, physics, chemistry, design and technology but the one place he would lack talent would be the understanding of humans, how their emotions work and the differences between right and wrong.
You'd think this list of great abilities would allow him to lead a healthy and fulfilling life of success but at a young age he also started to act differently in school. He was always strange, failing to notice people's distress, engaging in shallow friendships, indulging in cold-hearted behaviour but it intensified when the young boy began to act overly antisocially, soon becoming diagnosed with an antisocial disorder, sociopathy.
Kids kept their distance from him most of the time. Everyone shared a desk, but Yeonjun sat alone. Everyone had friends to be with at break time, Yeonjun had no one. He had himself and himself only.
Feeling bad for him?
Remember what he's done? Do you feel bad any more?
You could argue that it was this treatment within school that caused his antisocial behaviour.
He would make it clear that he had no regard for how other people felt, he was prone to regular fits of rage and anger, he would struggle to maintain steady friendships and lacked attachment to his family, while he could make emotional attachments they were hard to form and keep, he became impulsive and even when doing wrong he could rationalise his actions.
Some people say psychopaths are born and not made. Sociopaths are made and not born.
But was Yeonjun made or was he simply born?
That's as much as anyone ever got to know about Yeonjun's childhood and school life, the rest hidden in the deepened corners of his brain.
No one knew of his parents, his siblings if any or even a family at all.
Who was it that he told this?
Truth be told no matter who it came from, was Yeonjun a pathological liar? These words from his mouth all that time ago, would they even be true?
To believe or not to believe?
To be born or to be made?
