I opened my eyes and gasped while I looked around, my vision blurry and out of focus.

My whole body was tense, and my heart skipped a beat before it started to pound again while I tried to get myself to focus and figure out where I was. "Hello?" I asked, calling through the thick fog, praying that someone was there.

Nothing.

"Is anyone there?"

Again, there was nothing, and I huffed before I took a deep, shuddering breath growing tense and nervous.

I did not like this one bit and took a hesitant step forward while I looked around, trying to see if I couldn't see anything besides this whiteness and fog.

"Targon?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "Are you here? Did you make it in?"

Still, there was no sound, not a word was spoken, and I bit my lip to keep from groaning in annoyance.

Again, I took another step forward, following this path that was set for me.

Stay on the path, I remembered my grandmother figure said. Targon will make sure that you do and will stay safe.

But how do I know where the path was when I couldn't see? I thought.

I sighed in frustration before I moved a hand through my hair and shook my head, annoyed.

How can I see this path when it is all white? I thought and pursed my lips further while I narrowed my eyes. I don't know what they are thinking.

I bit back a huff before I held back an eye roll and looked around some more.

How am I going to do this? I thought and pursed my lips while I took a deep breath before I slowly released it. How am I going to find out where I am needing to go without being able to see?

I huffed before I closed my eyes and took another deep breath and released it again. Think, think, think, I thought and pursed my lips in annoyance. Think of Targon, and call him towards you.

I pursed my lips further but did what I was thinking. I pictured Targon near me or close by and would be able to find me from wherever he was hiding.

Targon, come, I commanded and magic flowed through my body and sparked at my fingertips. I command you to appear.

I felt this presence behind me, and the hair on the back of my neck stood at attention. My whole body grew tense before it relaxed because I knew that presence; I knew that person.

There was this presence at the back of my mind, and I grew tense because I didn't understand it and didn't know why I was feeling it.

The pressure grew stronger and slightly coaxed me until I hesitated but let down the barrier that I had set up to protect myself and the presence of another person filled my brain

I am here, Princess, the voice, the person, a male, said. The person's voice shook with relief and happiness before he cleared his throat. It is me.

I narrowed my eyes, but my whole body grew relaxed as if I knew their voice and the owner. Me? Who? I couldn't help but ask, earning a chuckle from the person behind me.

Someone placed their hand on my shoulder, and I reached out to touch it, starting to feel something there.

My heart skipped a beat before it started to pound faster, and I pressed my lips into a thin line while I narrowed my eyes. Targon? I asked and squeezed the hand tighter, silently praying that it was him. Is that your hand on my shoulder?
