Truth and Dare

"Shhhhh.. tama na please." I tried my best to calm her pero parang hindi matapos tapos ang iyak n'ya. "Rhian, tell me. What's the problem. I'm so sorry, if it's something I did, or something I said, I'm so sorry."

Hindi ko na alam ang gagawin ko. Hindi ko rin alam kung ano ang iisipin.

"Rhian please, tell me what's the problem."

Ramdam ko ang panginginig ng kanyang katawan. Patuloy lang s'ya sa pag-iyak.

"Glaiz, p-please h-help me. I-i n-need you." she whispered. Halos hindi ko ma intindihan sa sobrang hina ng pagkakasabi nya. Sinabayan pa ng sunod sunod na hikbi.

I tighten my embrace to assure her that it's okay. "You can tell me anything. I'm here for your, Rhian."

She reciprocated the intensity of my embrace. It's a good thing we are both woman. Our strength matches the other and therefore no one is hurting the other.

We stayed like this for God knows how long. Everything else is irrelevant but the person clinging to me.

This is all wrong.

But tonight, I don't care.

Slowly, she loosen her embrace. I let her go but I kept her within arm reached.

"Rhian? Bakit ka umiiyak? Shhhhh don't cry." I reached for her face and using my thumb I tried to wipe away her tears. But I failed miserably, it just keeps on flowing! "Rhi, tama na please. Ano ba nasabi ko at nag break down ka ng ganito?"

She took my hands and entwined our fingers.

"Kaya nga ako na iiyak....kasi...kasi wala kang ginagawa pero..."

She paused and it's killing me! Her hands are warm unlike the first time I held them.

I looked at her expectantly.

"Glaiz, sinubukan ko namang pigilan eh."

"Pigilan?"

"Ilang araw pa lamang kitang nakakasama, nagulo na ang mundo ko. I tried to hide this feeling, I tried to reason out na baka nadadala lang ako sa mga eksena."

"Rhian..."

"Is this falling in love? To be honest ngayon ko lang ito naramdaman sa buong buhay ko! And I'm so messed up!"

I was in total shocked because of what I heard. I'm paralyzed!

Nakatulog na ba ako sa sobrang pagod at kasalukuyang nananaginip? Or talagang kaharap ko si Rhian and she's confessing to me!

Anybody pinch me! Suntukin n'yo ako! Bago pa ako maniwala na totoo itong nasa harap ko.

"Glaiz, Please SAY SOMETHING!"

Nakalimutan ko na kung panu mag salita. Glaiza ba pangalan ko?

This is not funny!

Pumiglas s'ya sa pagkakahawak ko then another wave of sobbing and she stormed out. A loud bang of the door followed.

Oh God, someone wake me up. Or if I'm awake, shake me out of this paralysis. I need to go after her.

If I could just make one step... however I couldn't feel my legs.

Rhian..Rhian.. that was on my mind. I have a lot of practice na kausapin itong nasa ulo ko. So I started there and bring the words out of my mouth.

If I couldn't move at least let me speak.

"Rhian!" I hoarsely called out. Now, try to move your feet, Glaiza.

Talking to myself paid off. Slowly but surely I managed to move my legs and make my way towards the direction Rhian went.
