I look at her face which holds an unreadable expression. Rishi excused himself from us , leaving both of us alone.

" When do you want to cut the cake ? " She asks.

" There is no need for Me to cut it you can tell the kitchen staff to cut it and serve it with other sweets. " I say , this is not something we do every year though every planner I hired wanted to do something similar to what Shivanya is telling Me to do it but I refused.

" Are you sure ? " She asks , not believing Me.

" Hmm." I Nod.

" Then why did we even bother with the cake when no one will even see it , I could have just kept the Pastries. " Her tone is both accusing and angry.

" Shivanya I won't cut the cake end of discussion. " I say firmly , her expression looks defeated and disappointed.

" She is right Rudra. " I turn around to Dadosa's voice with Dadisa, both standing behind Me.

" What's the use of the cake when there is no cake cutting. " Dadisa says coming to stand next to Shivanya. Now it's three against one no chance I can win this argument.

" Then both of you can cut it. " I say walking away from them. I should have stopped Shivanya when she was discussing about the flavors sitting on my lap and I was nodding to whatever she was saying just so that she won't get up like a fucking idiot. I don't have any problem with the cake but with the tradition of cutting it , I just find it useless and a meaningless task.

After a small talk with some guests I again scan the hall for Shivanya. Earlier I was looking for her when she came I walked away now I am again doing the same thing. I see her talking with Nandani and Raghav . He is standing with them , a bored expression on his face as someone forced him to be here. While the women seems to enjoy the conversation they are having. As soon as Shivanya leaves them the dance performance starts. The live band that was playing a calm tune all along has switched to a different song for the dancers.

I see her standing near the pillar away from the crowd and can't help myself to be next to her. I stood behind her when the light dimmed with only the spotlight on the dancer. Placing one hand on her waist I rake my knuckles on her bare arm Shivanya doesn't look back to Me but she knows it's Me. Her eyes are glued to the stage but I can feel her body going stiff and her chest heaving to my touch.

" You didn't like the Necklace. " I specifically asked Meera to customize it for Shivanya just like every other Jewelry I gave her till now even the ring I put on her finger was lacking some personal touch when it was in its original design so I asked Meera to change a few diamonds on a very short notice. She wasn't here but she made sure her jeweler did exactly as she wanted after running the design by Me. Now I make sure to give Meera enough time to design the pieces for her.
