It seems that time liked to slow down and speed up only at the right moments for itself.

Another week has passed since the incident at brothel. Marie was punished but not only her. Every girl from that place bore the imprint of the unpleasant event. The girls didn't talk about it aloud, but they all experienced it and suppressed all feelings. Like it or not, they had to return to their old way of life. Even though the incident was still on their minds, they didn't mention it. They wanted to forget, but they couldn't.

This wasn't the first such incident. There have been similar situations in the recent past. The girls lived in fear, especially those who dreamed of the day when they would be able to break free. However, looking at what happened to their companions, hope faded, and the desire for a different life disappeared in the fog.

"When you leave the walls of this place, what is the first place you would like to see?" Arcenio asked curiously, who was again spending the night in the famous House.

"What made you think I'd ever leave this place?" She answered the question with a question.

"What made you think that it would not work?" He smiled, which she returned after a while. "Tell me. What would you most like to see?" He asked gently.

The mulatto sighed softly and thought for a long moment, even though she already knew the answer. Being and talking with Arcenio, the young woman could forget about the surrounding reality and the event that had taken place not so long ago.

The young man knew that something must've happened, but he didn't push his companion. He gave her time to tell him about it herself, she confided. And after a long time she did. It was hard for the woman to talk about it, but finally, after a few days, she dared to do it. So Arcenio understood her current behavior, but just knowing what had happened made Rubio feel his anger welling up. He knew that not only Narin might be in danger, but he was also aware of Bernardo's words. Because he may not be able to save everyone. His thoughts first focused on Narin, but the man always knew that there were people in this place who, like his friend, wanted to escape. However, unfortunately, not all of them had someone to help, someone who would like to fight for them. Arcenio wanted to stand up for them all, but he was painfully aware that there was a risk of failure. He thought deeply about it and decided one thing. When he manages to save Narin, he'll do anything to help the other girls. To all those who sincerely want to experience a different life, freedom.

"Love is weakness." She said suddenly. "Love only makes people stupid, it makes them weak. "

"Weak? " Arcenio repeated, amused. "My dear, I think you are mistaken." He said in a warm voice. "Love... It's one of the most beautiful gifts in this world. Sometimes it can make people feel weak, this insecurity or fear... But it just shows that this very feeling is strong enough to make people go crazy." He laughed softly. "Love can drive you crazy, it can make people fight for it..."

"For love? " She asked surprised.

"For love." Man nodded. "For a loved one." He looked at her gently, making her heart speed up significantly. "Love is strength, Narin. There is no reason to be afraid or ashamed of it. It's something...good. And the good has to be shared. Don't you think, querida?" He asked, then wanted to change the subject a bit. "So? What would you most like to see?" He reminded again. "Narin?"

"The sea." She replied after some time, and her words made the brunet smile. "I want to see the sea." She looked at her companion. "Feel the fresh smell of the air... Feel the sand and waves under my feet. See the sunset and sunrise there."

The brunet nodded thoughtfully. He was pleased with the mulatto's answer.

"But I honestly doubt I'd be able to see it at this time."
