Chapter 19: No worries

"Hey Chloe! Watch out!!" Aesira pushed a blonde girl named Chloe down after noticing the undead that's about to pounce on her.

Ryle immediately got rid of the undead and helped his sister and Stella up like a true gentleman.

"Get off me! Ugh... But thank you." Chloe looked away embarrassingly and took the undead's core and absorbed it.

On the other hand, the others were left startled from the sudden gratitude Chloe said which non of them was familiar with.

Chloe got tired of their reaction and flared at them.

"WHAT!?"

Aesira and the others could see flames from behind her and immediately pretended nothing happened.

"R-right, me and Crux will go scout that way..." Ryle found an escape route immediately and left his sister with Chloe.

Chloe clicked her tongue and spouted curses.

"Fuck, now I'm stuck with this bitch." Aesira who heard this was pissed but ignored her for the sake of peace and safe hunting.

After finishing up their area they moved on to an alleyway to start grinding, strangely they didn't come across not even a single corpse or presence.

"I swear I smelled pungent smell of blood, it can't just disappear, would it?" Aesira speculated that she must have got it wrong and took Chloe's arms and led her out.

But in a moment, Aesira was able to sense a pair of eyes, that of a predator watching its prey which sent chills down her spine.

Aesira yanked Chloe in front of her and looked behind them.

A panther beast, it extended it's claws out of the shadow as it emerges from the darkness.

'It's an undead beast!' Aesira felt the gap between her enemy and couldn't help but felt pressured, Aesira's hand felt like it was vibrating so much from Chloe's hand as she tries her best to pull Aesira to run.

Aesira decided and let go of Chloe making her pause.

"W-what are you doing...?" Chloe asked and in a matter of seconds Aesira immediately pulled out her hand to attack the undead beast with sand from her pouch and ran towards Chloe.

"Run, I stalled it for a while, but it won't be long until it moves!" Seeing Choe's shaky feet, Aesira caught Chloe before she trips and carried her bridal style.

"Chloe, hold on tight." Aesira calmy reassured Chloe.

"Don't worry I got this..."

Chloe couldn't help but feel her heart skip from her calm voice and soothing words.

'This idiot, she could have just left me there to save herself... No one ever said not to worry to me except my mother...'

Chloe blushed but reminded herself of the situation they're in.

After rounds of running, they ended up in a very narrow place, where people has to walk side ways just to walk through.

Aesira leaned on the wall with her knees stick to the other side of the wall like she's sitting on nothing and let Chloe sit on her lap facing each other. The two of them blushed once they noticed their lips nearly touching each other.

But before Chloe could start spouting nonsense. Aesira pulled Chloe closer from her back neck noticing the beast walking through.

Having each other's breath in their ears made them both a bit flustered red.

"Shhh, it's here..." Aesira whispered.

Aesira felt Chloe tremble and worriedly coaxed her softly.

"I'm here, I'll protect you."
