There's an email from Cassie in my inbox that taunts me every time I look at my desktop

I try to ignore it and go about doing the rest of my work for the day, but every time I so much as glance at my screen I see the little circle with the number of unopened emails I have, attached to the envelope icon known as email

One unread email

''fuck it'' I murmur I press on the email

Instead of taking me to the email directly, a bar appears on the screen informing me that once I exit this email, the email will disappear, and due of security reasons, the email has a once off password that will be provided to me

There is no password provided to me just a hint of what the password is; your nephew who's name starts with a C's birthday

I roll my eyes and type in Callum's birthday right before I am finally allowed access to this email

Ava

I am writing you this because I am too coward to say this to your face.

I thought that this might be a secret that I took with me to the grave, but I realize that in doing so I might mess up the slight possibility of your kids ever getting to meet their dad

Do not click out of this email yet, just read and make your decision at the end of all of this....

You might not know this but I knew Damien before you did

I met him at a press conference years ago when I had just graduated from university. Damien had hired someone at the firm, which at the time I was working at. He happened to hire the attorney I was  shadowing which meant that while she had to attend meetings with him, I had to be present

Courtney (Damien's then attorney) at the time went to a press conference, which had been hosted at this hotel. It was a weekend kind of thing, - which I won't really go into the full details of the event; as its really boring and even I didn't really understand what was going on at the time

Damien had spotted me one night at the hotels bar, and bought me a drink, - I was young then, I hadn't come out yet, I was still confused at this point in time, and Damien was charming enough that I let him buy me a drink and I willingly went up to his room with him.

This isn't an easy thing to admit, it's not any easier to type, but he raped me that night. I became with child and I had decided I would keep the baby

Later on, I hunted Damien down and decided to tell him about his baby, that is when I found out he was married and had kids and I knew how this story went – so I did not tell him. Plus by then he had seemed to move on to his next side piece (it wasn't you by the way, not yet at least)

Anyway I told dad, thinking he could help me, he told me to marry the man who knocked me up if I had any self-respect, - of course I couldn't do that. So when I told dad that that wasn't possible, he took that as me disobeying him and he beat me up real badly that I ended up losing the baby

It took me some time to mourn the loss of my child that could have been, - truthfully I still think of my unborn child to this day.

I met Sue a few years later, and you know how the rest of the story goes....

All those years back I predicted that you were seeing someone after Ross, but I just did not know whom. I tried to do some digging but I could not figure out who it was
