"What's got our sweet little angel upset on a fine Monday afternoon?"
Chaewon cringes as she hears her friend's voice. She closed her eyes a bit too tight and slowly looked up at her friend, Sakura.
Wonyoung was there too, standing beside Sakura with a small smirk on her lips, ready to tease her with whatever she responds to them with.
She knows her friends all too well, they have this habit of being able to come up with something to say as an attack on every topic that's brought up.
"What? Me? Upset? You must be seeing it wrong.." Chaewon tried her best to lie and not show that she was, indeed, truly upset. She sucks in a breath through her gritted teeth as she tries to flash them a genuine smile.
Of course she ended up looking all awkward and tense. She knew she was already caught up in her lie when both Sakura and Wonyoung raised an eyebrow at her.
"You know we literally saw you frowning so hard, we thought your eyebrows were going to fall off." Wonyoung said in a monotone voice and Chaewon cringes once more.
How will she even explain what happened when she doesn't even know what happened either. She's confused which is why she's upset.
"Come on, fess up." It was both Soobin and Sunghoon who came up to them from behind, both holding up a huge box filled with a ton of theater club equipment. There were clothes and costumes inside that were from their past plays.
Seeing the two boys was enough to get both Sakura and Wonyoung's attention away from Chaewon. Sadly, the short haired girl wasn't fast enough to run away and Sakura had held onto her arm just in case she escapes.
She starts whining as she tries to squirm away from Sakura's tight hold on her, the older girl glared at her once and it was enough to keep her from escaping.
"So, what's going on Ms. Kim?" Sunghoon said in a teasing tone and Chaewon immediately groaned.
"Wow, did something really bad happen that's why you're acting this way?" Wonyoung asks, both hands now situated on her hips. Looking as sassy as ever while asking Chaewon to finally tell them what's happening.
"What's it about? Hmm? Is it about Heeseung again?" Sakura asks, "Or was it Jongseong being an ass again?" she added and Chaewon whined once more.
"You're starting to sound like a dog." Sunghoon comments.
"Shut the fuck up."
They all laugh at Chaewon's immediate response and were kind of relieved that she isn't that upset. Sometimes Chaewon gets more upset than she is now and would never talk to them in fear that she may blow up in their faces. She'd rather stay silent than accidentally raise her voice at her friends who're just genuinely worried about her.
It's a habit that Chaewon adapted throughout the years in fear of saying something hurtful that she doesn't actually mean.
"What's it about then? Something worse than Lee Heeseung and Park Jongseong combined?" Soobin playfully asks, an amused look on his face.
Chaewon found his playfulness endearing, she smiled up at him just a bit before losing all happy emotions on her face all together.
They were all waiting for Chaewon to finally say it when she sighs deeply.
Chaewon goes and sits down on a chair beside her. She thought it really wouldn't hurt to just tell her friends the reason why she's upset.
But she badly just doesn't know how to start this all off.
She looked at the four of them one by one, they all looked worried. It was evident on their faces.
"Put those boxes away first. Wouldn't want the both of you to get tired while I'm telling you something."
