Sieun knew it wouldn't take long before Chaewon's outburst once she heard the news. Or when she sees Huh Yunjin the first time she walks into the club room. Sieun even counts down the time to when Chaewon finally bursts into the auditorium to ask her what exactly was going on.
She may be the president of the club but Chaewon is a force to reckon with. And even if Yunjin said she'd take care of Chaewon, Sieun is sure she'd come and talk to her first before she even confronts Yunjin about anything.
"Sieun what the hell?"
Chaewon was already there before she knew it just like she expected.
"Good afternoon to you too." Sieun greets her calmly and Chaewon tries to take a few breaths before she says anything else.
"Why is she there?" Chaewon asks her in a hushed tone. It was obvious Chaewon didn't want to make a scene and was trying to talk to Sieun as calmly as possible.
Sieun turns to her and grips the clipboard she's holding. "Yunjin? She was the one who asked to be a part of the play."
"And you let her?"
"What do you think?"
Chaewon huffs. She was in disbelief.
"Are you serious, Sieun? Why would you approve of this?" Sieun could only sigh. There was no way Chaewon would just let this go that easily even if Sieun replies to her genuinely.
"I'm sorry, Chae. But you know that those three weren't fitting in the role." Sieun calmly says, avoiding Chaewon's gaze.
"Why didn't you tell me first?"
"Chaewon, come on. We both know we're losing time here. With all the rehearsals that we've done without the three boys, we can't keep asking Soobin to fill in for them every time." Sieun pleads with Chaewon through her eyes.
Chaewon's eyes softened at Sieun who visibly looked stressed. She didn't want to add up to it. So, she takes a step back and mumbles an apology.
Sieun shakes her head, "No, I understand where you're coming from and I know I should have asked you first. But you knew that we wanted Yunjin the very first time and when she was the one who came up to me, telling me she wanted to take the role," she let out a breath.
"I knew I couldn't turn her down. I snatched that opportunity right away and gave her Jaeyun's role right then and there."
Chaewon bit her lip at Sieun's explanation. She does understand Sieun as well but it doesn't erase the fact that she felt like Sieun dismissed her request of not having Yunjin in the club ever again.
But they were indeed losing time. She can't fight Sieun because of that.
"Let's at least give this a try, alright? Maybe you can talk to Yunjin, too..." Sieun has her hand on Chaewon's shoulder and stares at her with a desperate look as if she's telling Chaewon not to fight the poor girl.
Chaewon would have to try.
"Okay."
—
Maybe Chaewon wasn't thinking when she burst into the clubroom, walking up to Yunjin and then gripping her wrist.
Speaking with gritted teeth, "Let's talk. Outside." And then pulling Yunjin out into the hallway.
Maybe she didn't think it through when Sieun told her that she could talk to Yunjin about it. She didn't think about what the others would feel when she suddenly took Yunjin outside to talk.
The newer members would only be confused but the past members would be terrified.
Yunjin was already looking at her with those trembling, unsure brown eyes when she looked up. Upon seeing her look like that, Chaewon let out a huff.
