Imagine the amount of rage Chaewon felt when Sakura showed her the newly published school newspaper for the week. Sakura didn't even have to ask, she didn't even need to inspect Chaewon to know that she was beyond pissed.
"Huh Yunjin, single-handedly stole Sim Jaeyun's role in the theater club. What could be Kim Chaewon's reaction? Read to find out!"
It was absurd. Chaewon was seething in anger but she didn't burst. She doesn't explode, she tries her best to calm down and let the feelings sink in, marinate, and hopefully leave her system.
But it doesn't. She crumpled the sides of the newspaper as she clenched her fists around the material.
"Yu Jimin, that cheeky little-" She stops herself before she can even throw out a slew of profanities here and there. They were inside the cafeteria after all. Wonyoung had asked Sakura to switch seats beforehand because, of course, Sakura would have to be the one to show the newspaper to Chaewon.
Sunghoon was busy stuffing his face with his lunch and apparently also busy snickering. Chaewon shoots him a glare and he avoids her eyes.
"Keep eating if you don't want me to smash your face into your damn food, Park Sunghoon." He swallows at the wrong time and almost chokes because of Chaewon's threat. Wonyoung doesn't dare say a word, she already knows that Chaewon's not having the greatest week.
"The headline's not even the best part," Sakura smirked and Sunghoon knew he'd be dead before he could even take their exams. "Flip through it."
Chaewon stares at Sakura with one eyebrow raised and Sunghoon prepares for the worse. Sakura nods her head, gesturing for Chaewon to flip through and finally, she does after a few seconds of hesitance.
She flips the page and the picture of Sunghoon hugging Yunjin tightly with Sieun at the back seemingly shouting at him is what greets her.
Wonyoung hears Sunghoon suck in a breath through his teeth, his eyes squinted and his brows furrowed. He looked in pain and Wonyoung laughed silently, opening her mouth wide before covering it with her hand.
The short-haired girl immediately turns to shoot another glare towards Sunghoon and he stutters out a ton of incoherent jumbled words to try and explain his side. He knew Chaewon would still kick his ass even if he has a great, valid excuse for it.
Unfortunately, he doesn't have a great, valid excuse.
"This was planned?" She raises the newspaper to show Sunghoon as if Sunghoon doesn't already know what's in it.
He laughs awkwardly. He could feel his sweat dripping down his face. When did the cafeteria get so hot? It wasn't only hot, he felt like Satan himself was sitting next to him, ready to take him down to hell and fire him up.
"Look at him stuttering. Guilty as charged!" Wonyoung pointed with a cheeky grin. She was surely enjoying this. She even wished Soobin was around to tease Sunghoon with her.
Unfortunately, the tall boy is too busy with student council work and he has to skip, yet again, another lunch with his friends.
"Answer me, Park Sunghoon," Chaewon slowly inched the newspaper closer to his face. Sunghoon slowly looked away while Chaewon inched the newspaper closer and closer.
Chaewon's frown was slowly deepening as she pushed for answers that Sunghoon had yet to give. Sakura watched in amusement as she took out her phone to take a picture of Sunghoon's guilty face. Wonyoung is too busy trying to come up with something to egg the situation on.
The short-haired girl finally loses her patience and slaps Sunghoon's shoulder, "Speak up!" she demands, and the poor boy flinches.
"Come on, Hoon. Just come clean and Chaewon might just spare you." Wonyoung says in a teasing tone.
