Chapter 14

Amelia is up bright and early at 6:30 she's getting dressed in her hero costume or what's left of it while Maijima fixes some things. She turns to Stubby who sits on the dinning table when she exits her room, he seems to have written good morning on his note pad, he gives a soft meow.

"Hey buddy." She says giving him a good head pat, "it's my first day at work. Granted I'm really nervous about what's gonna happen, but I'll be fine. Speaking of, you wanna come with me, I mean Nezu has been weirdly quiet about asking about you but I get this feeling he's about to try breaking an entering to see you soon. You can't avoid seeing your friend, you're always lecturing me about hiding away. If I have to be a social butterfly your going as well, plus aren't you excited to chat with some whose like you?" Amelia talks as she fills up a mug with ice and places it in the Keurig

Stubby rolls his single yellow eyes as he wraps a tail around a pen and begins to write, 'if I go he'll blame himself for what happened.'

Amelia knew he was talking about the experiments, "Stubs.. I don't know exactly what happened between you and Nezu during your time in.. in that place. But i think he spent all his time thinking he was the lone survivor and knowing now that his friend is out there, alive! I think he just wants to be your friend again."

'we aren't friends.. we were just unfortunate creatures caught in human experimentation.'

"Yet you both call each other Old Friend. Just come with, worst case scenario you hide out in the lounge until lunch and I'll get you home." She says taking her mug now full of cold coffee and sipping it, "now come on, I gotta get going, can't have my teaching partner have anymore reason to think bad of me." She mutters the last part, but Stubby hears it and his eye slit.

'your new teaching partner? Is he causing you trouble?' Stubby writes frantic

"Not exactly, everyone is kind but.. he just seems to be waiting for my down fall." She notices the look in his eye, "Now Stubs don't go doing anything to him. I'm sure it'll.. pass." She says pass with uncertainty

She zips up her hero costume jacket puts her mask on, and slides on her red high tops, "now come on. Let's go and face today together." She says softly to her friend picking him up gently putting him in her bag not giving him a chance to argue as they head out the door together.

Just as they exit the door and walk, Amelia gets called out, "Yo Tano. Wanna ride?" Says a loud voice

She looks back an sees Yamada walking over in full hero gear, Amelia gives a soft smile to the blond Cockatoo, "s-sure if you don't mind."

"Wouldn't have offered if I didn't. Now you excited for your first day on the job? I know I am." Yamada says upbeat as usual as they walk together out towards the parking garage

"Define excited? Cause I didn't sleep well last night thinking about how I'll be working with a guy who seems to have it out for me. No offense to your friend." She says venting slightly while keeping her hand on her bag that is hiding Stubby right now

He chuckles as they walk towards his blue and white mustang, "none taken. Shouta is.. interesting. He's a good friend but is rough around the edges. He's really umm edgy towards new people, he likes to keep them at arms length, better to do that than hurt yourself. I've known that guy since high school and he's only gotten a tad bit more grumpy and sleep deprived. Keep pestering him, that's how I became his friend!" He states ethusatically

"You.. pestered him?"

"Yeah his words not mine, I just hung around and kept talking to him with.." he pauses and then says, "with a old friend." Yamada shakes his head, his green eyes behind the glasses have sadness in them as he unlocks his mustang so they can get in, "yeah, uh, we just kept hanging out with him, wouldn't let him be a loner."
