"Say what did you give to Navier for her birthday?" Y/N had woken up at the break of dawn, she must have been so exhausted and comfortable to have slept so long. Of course because she skipped dinner, she was famished so here she was now at the eating quarters with numerous plates placed in front of her by Kosair.

'This is a bit too much-!' she couldn't help but think.

"Oh and eat more." Kosair smiled like a puppy, she couldn't even reject his offer since she still felt guilty over what happened last time. "Okay.." she said nibbling on the roasted chicken leg, before perking up with a bright smile "this tastes good!"

"That's great." he nodded, considering he had talked to the chefs of the inn to prepare food that y/n likes and cook it how she prefers it, very in love I'd say. "Anyways, I made a lot for Navier for her birthday." She said, her legs childishly kicking as she excitedly ranted off what she had done.

"I made a new embroidered handkerchief for her since the last one got ruined. And of course I made her a cake and some food that had been sent to the villa, oh and of course just for show considering my extravagant standing I sent her an artificial rose made of crystals from one of the mines." She retold towards the man who simply smiled and listened to her,

"and of course I didn't forget a heartfelt letter and birthday card!"

"heavens, it would have been terrible if you forgot that."

"yes, a crime worthy to be punishable by death." she exaggerated before she started to giggle.

Kosair's eyes softened as he watched her continue to eat and tell some stories back at the capital, Y/n had always been more sensitive and sentimental, she was the type to give more personalize and heart-touching gifts.

To everybody in the past, Y/n was some commoner who was taken in by a powerful family, nothing but a warrior with a talent for the sword and magic.

To his family she was such a child that brought a whole new world to the son and daughter, a breath of fresh hair who could handle the two. She was someone they were lucky to have picked up because at the time she was a diamond in the rough.

To the people now, she was a hero, a general, someone who went from a lowly commoner to a high standing aristocrat. She was strong and powerful.

But to him, she was precious. She was as equally precious to him as his sister was. Although she had changed, no longer the cowardly child, no longer a kid, no longer defenseless, he couldn't help but still want to protect her from everything even if she wasn't terrified to everything now.

He hummed, causing the [hair color] haired girl to look at him while she was in the middle of eating a plate of buttered vegetables with a side of corn and mashed potatoes. "What's wrong?" she asked concerned at how quiet he has been.

"Just thinking of what to do today.." he said with a smile, Y/n hummed as well thinking about it, she had put in a few days extra since she thought Kosair would be mad at her for days on end, but that wasn't the case so she now had a lot of time "How about sparring.."

"Mmm I was thinking about something else" he sighed, crossing his arms with a faint blush on his cheeks 'something more romantic' he thought. If he asked for his parents or sisters advice, they'd tell him to make a formal date that was accepted in etiquette standards. But he didn't want to do it the aristocrat way, the way usual aristocrats court with each other was confusing! Why couldn't they just say what they mean rather than hiding their feelings behind cold words that usually mean the opposite of what they want!

"Then how about you show me around town?" she suddenly suggested, now this time she was eating a plate of [pasta, carbonara, spaghetti or something like that], she waved her spoon "I mean what else is there to do at the borders anyways other than training?"
