After a lengthy session at the library, I rise from my study nook, brushing off invisible dust from my clothes. I make my way to the elevator, just a short stroll away. Pressing the silver button embedded in the wall, a gentle ding resonates, signalling the elevator's approach. As the doors glide open, I step into the confined space – it's snug, but that's not what captivates my attention

Him

He exuded a striking charm, with tousled blonde locks and eyes that seemed like vibrant emeralds, capable of grounding even the most distracted soul – a feat he effortlessly achieved with my wandering thoughts. I position myself at the left corner of the elevator, leaving him ample space on the right. My focus sneakily now fixated on him, I notice the ground floor button illuminated, indicating he must have hailed the elevator from a higher floor.

I discreetly cast a sidelong glance, absorbing more of his distinctive features. It struck me just how towering he was, capable of overshadowing anyone in the vicinity. However, he caught onto my observation, and to my surprise, he responded with a warm smile. That smile—my internal self crumbled. In an attempt to save face, I mustered a nonchalant, crooked smile, feigning indifference as though my surreptitious appraisal had gone unnoticed.

As the elevator descended, I could sense the subtle vibrations, accompanied by peculiar noises echoing through the shaft with each passing floor. Abruptly, it came to a halt, and a shiver ran down my spine. I froze in place—this couldn't be happening. Stuck in the confined space with the attractive stranger beside me, I noticed he, too, stilled, mirroring my own apprehension. The shared moment of realization hung in the air, tethering us together in the unexpected pause of the malfunctioning elevator.

A phantom bead of sweat traced a path down my forehead, a testament to the palpable tension in the air.
"Well, it seems we're in a bit of a predicament," I ventured, breaking the uneasy silence.

He turned towards me, a hint of amusement in his eyes, and let out a chuckle. "Looks like it," he replied, the shared understanding of our situation creating a connection in the confined space.

He strolls around, methodically inspecting the confines of the elevator. A pause marks his exploration, his keen eyes failing to discern anything amiss.

"Hmm, everything seems fine inside," he remarks, coming to a standstill.

Contemplating our predicament, I chime in, "I can't help but wonder how long we're destined to be cooped up in here."

"Yeah, it's a bit surprising. No emergency button and the signal here is abysmal—can't even catch a single bar," I share, a note of disbelief colouring my tone.

As the realization sinks in, he raises his brows in genuine shock, mirroring the incredulity of our predicament.

what feels like hours but in reality was minutes I slowly slide down and sit on the cold floors of the elevator and break the silence "well while were are here do you want to play 20 questions".

This was my great idea on getting to know this beautiful guy that was beside me and naturally I'm not going to let this opportunity slip. He smiles at me once again and answers with a soft "sure". He mirrors my sitting position as he gets comfortable as we do not know how long we will be in here for.

Embarking on our impromptu game, I initiate with a simple, "What's your name?" His gaze momentarily drifts elsewhere before he responds, "Lloyd." My playful curiosity emerges, and I quip, "No last name?" accompanied by a touch of amusement. Lazily smirking, he retorts, "Ah, ah, ah, it's my turn to ask the question."

In response, he fires back with a cheeky smile, asking, "What's your full name?"—a playful challenge burning in his gaze. Not one to back down, I retort, "Y/N L/N," with an unamused expression, though a subtle smile tugging at the corners of my lips.
