My eyes light up with excitement as I gaze upon the array of rides, accompanied by the exhilarating screams of thrill-seekers. I point towards the most daunting attraction and declare, "Let's take on this one, guys!" Lloyd and Jay exchange hesitant glances, wearing matching grimaces, while Nya appears intrigued by the idea. The chosen ride is none other than the slingshot—an iconic yet fear-inducing classic.

Nya expresses her desire to ride with Jay, eager to witness his screams, which draws a laugh from me. The mental image of Jay's squeaky voice echoing through the air amuses me. I playfully nudge Lloyd and comment, "Looks like it's just us again." He jokingly sighs, "Oh God," and I tease, "I hope you're not scared now." With a smirk, he retorts, "We all know you're going to scream on this ride," and I chuckle, acknowledging the truth—I am, indeed, a screamer.

A shiver runs down my spine as Nya and Jay secure their seats. I shout, "Good luck!" while Nya gives a thumbs up. Lloyd playfully calls out to Jay, "Hey Jay, it doesn't look like your seat belt is on right," and, with a sudden FWOOSH, they're launched into the air.

The screams I envisioned were nothing compared to the reality unfolding before me. Jay's cries pierced through the air, reaching an unexpected volume, even garnering laughter from those waiting in line. Lloyd couldn't help but mumble, "Jay, you're an absolute idiot," and I joined in the laughter. Nya's more subdued screams added a touch of amusement to the chaotic symphony. It was evident who wore the dominant hat in their relationship.

When they finally emerged, Nya's once-tidy hair was in disarray, mirroring Jay's now-messy locks. I couldn't hold back my laughter at their post-ride appearances. As they approached, Jay clung to the safety bar for support, muttering, "That was awful." Nya added, "He passed out like ten times," prompting more laughter. Lloyd, ever the supportive friend, consoled them, saying, "You two took it like champs," and offered fist bumps. Nya glanced at Lloyd, a mischievous glint in her eyes, and remarked, "We'll see how you do." Lloyd chuckled, responding, "Hopefully not as bad as him," casting a teasing glance at Jay.

My heart raced as the realization hit – it was our turn next. Nya gave me an encouraging pat on the shoulder, exclaiming, "You got this, girl!" I chuckled and replied, "Of course." Lloyd and I were securely fastened into our seats, and I couldn't help but mutter, "I messed up." He laughed and quipped, "Something told me you'd say that."

The moment the slingshot flung us into the air, my instincts took over, and I let out the most unflattering scream imaginable. Desperate for some form of security, I instinctively grabbed onto Lloyd's arm, who, instead of joining in my terrified screams, found my reaction utterly amusing. I shot him a look between screams, and as we went airborne once more, he burst into fits of laughter, tears streaming down his face. In the midst of my panic, I screamed, "HELP ME!" Lloyd, still chuckling, responded, "I wish I had recorded this."

As the ride gradually descended to a stop, I let out a sigh of relief. "At least I didn't die," I quipped, and Lloyd, ever the joker, retorted, "With those screams, I thought you might be on the verge there," earning him a playful smack on the arm.

Exiting the ride, the world spun around me, and I nearly tripped from the dizziness. Instinctively, I clutched onto Lloyd's arm, playfully stating, "Don't mind me." He chuckled and teased, "Weak," poking my arm. I rolled my eyes at his playful banter.

Jay came running towards us, shouting, "HAHA, you're even worse than me, Y/n!" Lloyd added, "Tell me about it; I thought I went deaf there." I shot playful glares at both of them, defending myself, "Hey, it just came out; I can't control it." Nya joined in the laughter, remarking, "This was not the outcome I was expecting – Y/n suggesting the ride and screaming like crazy, and then there's Lloyd, who laughs during the ride. What a bizarre duo."

Jay excitedly points at the flying chair, and we all head over there. Nya and I take the seats in the front, with Lloyd and Jay settling in behind us. As the ride begins, it starts off mild, but as it gains speed and altitude, both Nya and I can't help but burst into giggles. We seize the opportunity to capture some fun pictures together.

In the back, I hear Jay expressing his regrets once again, and Lloyd consoling him with laughter. Compared to the intense slingshot ride, this one feels much more enjoyable. When the ride concludes, we disembark, and Jay suggests getting some water to refresh ourselves. Nya and I make our way to a nearby booth with drinks.

Nya remarks, "Today has been a blast," and I wholeheartedly agree, saying, "Yeah, I've never had so much fun. This is a refreshing change of pace for me." As we approach the booth, Nya orders water for Jay and herself. I decide to do the same, grabbing water for both myself and Lloyd—considering he might be thirsty after our exhilarating rides.

With our drinks in hand, we start heading back. The journey takes only five minutes, but as we return, we notice a crowd gathered in a circle, watching something intriguing. Nya and I try to push through to get a closer look, and as we do, my expression visibly changes. I turn pale and gasp in surprise and worry.

My eyes widen in disbelief as a gasp escapes my lips. The vibrant atmosphere of the fair takes an abrupt turn as I witness a shocking scene unfold. In the centre of a gathering crowd, Lloyd, who was moments ago filled with laughter from the thrill of the rides, now stands with blood trickling down from his nose. With an air of nonchalance, he casually wipes away the crimson stain with the back of his hand, creating a smeared trail across his features. Despite the unexpected assault, a smirk curves on his face, as if daring the unseen assailant, to escalate the situation further he challenges the unseen assailant, asking, "Is this how it's going to be?"

The once carefree atmosphere now crackles with tension, and my concern deepens as I struggle to comprehend the sudden and violent twist in what was supposed to be a joyous day at the fair.

A hushed murmur spreads through the crowd as people exchange bewildered glances, their faces reflecting a mixture of shock and curiosity. The rhythmic sounds of cheerful carnival music clash with the tension that hangs in the air, creating an unsettling contrast.

Lloyd's unruffled demeanour contrasts starkly with the chaos surrounding him. Despite the unexpected punch to his nose, he maintains a certain poise, his eyes narrowing slightly as he assesses the situation. The smeared blood on his face hints at a defiance, a refusal to let the altercation disrupt his composure.

The unseen adversary, still obscured within the circle of onlookers, responds to Lloyd's nonchalant question with audible hostility. Harsh words are exchanged, and the crowd edges closer, collectively holding its breath, uncertain of how this confrontation will unfold.

Nya, by my side, echoes the collective confusion. "What the hell is going on?" she asks, her voice tinged with disbelief. I have no answer, my gaze fixed on Lloyd, trying to comprehend the abrupt shift from laughter to this unexpected moment of conflict. The fairgrounds, once filled with carefree joy, now feel charged with an unsettling energy, and the mystery behind this altercation deepens, leaving us on the precipice of an unforeseen turn of events.
