Olivia was walking into her office when the phone started ringing.

"Lieutenant Benson."

"It's Jay."

"Is something wrong?"

"I'm not what you would call okay right now."

"What's wrong?"

"Mikayla OD'd and she's in the hospital."

"How did she get a hold of drugs?!"

"You can basically get drugs off any street corner here."

"Here's Erin." She passed the phone off to Erin and headed into the evidence room.

"You need to come home."

"I told you I can't until they replace me here. You know that."

"Your mother can manage being short one detective. She managed after Elliot left."

"Why are you in such a rush to get me home?"

"I miss you, your father misses you, your daughter misses you, your friends miss you...and maybe because our daughter is in the hospital from a drug overdose."

"What did you just say?"

"Our daughter is in the intensive care unit from a drug overdose. You need to come home. Ever since you left three years ago, she's been acting out like this. I'm not letting her go into a downward spiral more than she already is."

"I can't get back there until I have a replacement. I've told you that." She slammed the phone down and threw it off her desk.

"Hey, what's going on?" Olivia asked.

"Mom, he keeps telling me to go out there."

"He's your husband. He loves and misses you."

"He told me Mikayla's turning into a teenage me."

"Are you acting like this because I gave you up for adoption?"

"You were scared and didn't know what to do. When I was her age, I had already lost my virginity. I was doing drugs and drinking alcohol. Bunny and her husband pretty much abandoned me, that's why dad and his wife took me in."

"She's only acting like this because she doesn't have you there."

"I go out there for visits when I can."

"You need to move back out there. Explain what could happen if she doesn't stop."

"But-"

"Move back out there. We can manage being short one detective."

"You need someone to fill that spot."

"You don't need to worry about that, you need to get out there."

"Mom-"

"Don't mom me. I'm gonna go buy your ticket. I'll be back in a half hour."

"You should listen to her." Nick said.

"I can do this on my own."

"If that was one of my kids, I'd be on the next flight out there."

"It's not your kids."

"She's your only child. We've got enough people here." Sonny told her.

"You guys are my family."

"We always will be. You belong in Chicago, not Manhattan." Fin said, sipping from his coffee.

"I lived my whole life not knowing who my real parents were."

"You're free to come and visit anytime you want, but you need to go home."

Back home, Jay was pacing in the hallway. Gabby came running in and by his side.

"How's she doing?"

"They got it all it out of her system."

"That's a relief. I only wish I had called you under better circumstances."

"You were doing your job and you have to do the right thing, even if it hurts others."

"Are you mad at me?"

"God no."

"This might look awkward."

"How?"

"Me comforting my ex boyfriend."

"We're not a couple anymore."

"I'm trying to be nice because I feel bad."

Hours later, everyone was still hanging about the waiting room.

"I've had just about my fair share of hospitals." Nadia said, checking her phone.

"You and me both." Kim looked over at her.

Loud and distracting footsteps filled the hallway. As they approached the room, they got louder and louder. Erin shoved her way through the doors. Everyone's heads shot up.

"What are you doing here?" Jay asked.

"Thanks for the warm welcome home."

"What?"

"I had a talk with my mother this morning, and for once it made sense. I belong here."

She walked into Mikayla's room, she was watching TV and not paying attention.

"Hey you." Erin grabbed the remote from her.

"What are you doing here?" She demanded.

"I'm home."

"Are you just gonna leave again in the morning?"

"I'm back and I don't plan on leaving."

"I'll wake up in the morning and you'll be gone."

"I'm gonna be right here by your side. I'm back and I'm not going anywhere."

"How can I trust you?"

"You see this plane ticket? It's one way."

"Why would you leave me and dad?"

"There's someone I think I should tell you about."

"What?"

"After I left, I found out about someone."

"About who?"

"You have..."

"I have what?"

"Never mind."

"I'm not a kid anymore, you don't need to hide stuff from me."

"I don't think now is the right time to tell you."

"Tell me."

"Some other time."

"You need a reality check. Tell me what it is, it's not like I'm going to blab it to the whole world."

"I said no and I meant no."

"Tell me, now."

"Do you not understand the meaning of the word no?"

"What is so hard about telling me?"

"I don't wanna tell you."

"Why won't you tell me?"

"I know you'll be mad if I tell you."

"I've had enough arguing with you."

"Now's not the time."

"Tell me, or I swear to god I will walk out of this hospital room."

"You have a brother."
