Hours later, Kat pulled up to the Belizeilbee with Jove in tow as her passenger, concentration furrowed on her brow.

"Just ease it up along the curb," Jove was encouraging. "Slow down a little, slow down, ok and put on your blinker, you're parking."

Hands gripping the steering wheel like a vice, Kat slowly depressed the brake, eking to a stop in front of the building that was otherwise devoid of any parked cars.

"Now put it in park," Jove instructed, and Kat pushed the central gear up then sagged in relief.

"You did it!" he praised, an enormous smile on his face.

After getting off to a very rocky start by denting the bumper of a car worth more than most people's houses, Kat had completely refused to try again, Jove first driving her to his favorite restaurant, then her favorite bookstore, then the lake.

After the idyllic day, Kat happier than she could ever remember being, Jove finally put his foot down, insisting she overcome her fears and make the drive home. Tapping into the courage that spending time with him gave her, she made the slow and stressful drive, Jove encouraging her all the way.

"I'm not doing that again," she informed him, finally able to relax her shoulders after holding them overly rigidly.

Jove laughed.

"That's what you said about the helicopter."

Kat turned to him with a bemused look, already knowing him well enough to wait for the conclusion of his sentence.

"And?" she prompted

"And you're going on that again tomorrow," Jove promised.

"Jove!" she cried in reproach, and he lifted his hands in mock denial.

"Ambrose asked about you, I swear."

"Yea, right."

Jove's expression took on a new depth.

"No," he said. "He really did. He said you remind him of my grandma, he said you have the same energy."

Kat blinked in surprise.

"He didn't say that."

"He did," said Jove, smiling at her gently. "Why are you always surprised when people like you Kat?

She shrugged, acknowledging the validity of his words before she even had time to consider them.

"You're amazing," he murmured quietly, now looking deep into her eyes. "You're the most amazing person I've ever met."

She leaned over and kissed him, reveling in the ability to kiss him whenever she felt the urge, to hold his hand and hear his voice and be in his proximity.

"I gotta go," she whispered, pulling away from him.

"No, no," Jove muttered, nuzzling into her neck. "Come back to mine. Or let's get a hotel, wherever you want, any view in the city."

"I can't," she whispered, giving him another quick kiss. "I can't. I have to go."

She opened her door and Jove did the same, the two of them crossing paths and kissing once more in front of the car as Jove switched back to the driver seat. He rolled down the passenger window and Kat leaned into it, knowing she should leave but not yet wanting to.

"Bye." she said with a half smile, the shyness that sometimes came over her when Jove was around creeping up behind her.

"Bye Kat," he replied in his deep, sultry rumble, and Kat felt herself begin to melt.

She turned and walked up the steps to the Belizeilbee, giving him one last wave once she reached the top, and entered the double doors, planning to stay for no more than a few minutes.
