"You're still Dan Heng, right?"

"Dan Heng-"

"Dan Heng are you listening?"

"Dan Heng?!"

He slowly opened his eyes and glared at the two people sitting at the table with him. Honestly, the conversation they were having was starting to get boring, so he couldn't help it when his mind started to wander to yesterday. He couldn't help but to think of what y/n said.

"Even I know it's it rude to fall asleep during a meeting, Imbibitor Lunae," Jing Yuan said with a sly smile, "though, maybe you couldn't help but to drift off to thoughts of a certain someone?"

Dan Heng pointed his glare towards the territory boss of the Luofu.

"That is of none of your concern."

Blade set down his drink before turning his gaze onto Dan Heng too, "is it though? Let's not beat around the bush. It's obvious that you were."

The room hung in a tense silence, the meeting they were having about area disputes and weapon trafficking laws was put on hold for the moment.

Dan Heng spoke first, breaking the silence along with the tension, "fine, I was. Though, as i said before, I don't see how it concerns either of you."

Jing Yuan took a sip from his glass, his back leaning into the chair as he gazed at Dan Heng with a sly stare, a smirk flitting about his lips, "but it does. And the both of us are aware by how close you gotten to her. It makes me wonder if you'll be able to keep her."

Blade crossed his arms over his chest, "it would be a shame if she got into something she wasn't supposed to."

"If you wish to obstruct me, you'll have to do better," Dan Heng warned.

Blade stood up then, "trust me, you'll lose her by the end of the week."

Jing Yuan also stood up to leave, "let's just hope this little dispute over her doesn't get you over your head dear Imbibitor Lunae."

And Dan Heng was left with his thoughts in the meeting room. The two being escorted out of the building and to their respective people.

If it was a war they were after, then it will be a war they will get. Because he refused to let either of them have what belongs to him.

However, Dan Heng needed to prepare if he wanted this to end in his favor. He needed her to be his first, after all.

"Thank you so much for your commission, I hope I got everything done that you asked me to," y/n said with a smile as she got her reward from a nice elderly man.

The man smiled back at her and waved her off, "of course, of course. You were a big help with finding my lost photograph. I wouldn't know what to do if I never got it back."

Y/n nodded, "anything to help another out! Now if you'll excuse me, I better go file my report and tag this as a mission accomplished," she said with a wave as she turned to leave. Her smile as bright as ever. Though, just as she turned she had bumped into a hard chest. Stumbling back a step, she felt someone grab her wrist and pull her upright.

Opening her eyes, she was about to apologize, but her words got caught in her throat when she saw that it was Dan Heng. But she was quick to recover and jumped excitedly into him, her arms encircling around his waist to give him a tight hug.

"Dan Heng?! What are you doing here?!"

He chuckled lightly and patted her head, "I called the Astral Express to ask where you were at."

That was a lie. He actually just tracked her phone and got her location that way. There was no need to rely on someone else.

"Oh? Why?"

Her hands fell from his waist as she took a step back and smiled up at him.

"I needed to ask you something if you're not busy, of course."

He knew that she still needed to mark this commission as completed. But that was a rather simple task. Not to mention he already knew that she was done for the day anyway.

"Fire away! Oh, but first, we should probably not block the sidewalk... hey! My place is actually close from here! Want to go there?"

He would be lying if he said that that little question didn't light something inside of himself.

"Sure, that'll work."

"Great! Then let's go," she said happily, her hand grabbing onto his hand and even intertwining their fingers together as she made him follow her. And he couldn't help but to notice the light skip in her step as she did so.

"Before we get there though, I just have to warn you...I don't typically have guests over, and so it might be a bit messy."

He chuckled, "that's alright."

"And..."

"And?"

"Well..., the apartment I have is pretty cheap, so it's probably not as luxurious as the places you're used to."

"Just being near you is enough."

"What a flirt," she said with a grin while bumping her hip against him, "now come on! We're almost there!"

Slowly but surely, everything was falling into place. As long as Jing Yuan and Blade didn't screw anything up, then it'll all work out. Just as he wants.
