Anneliese Emmagan was a normal young woman. Who was very proud the day she became the king's body guard. Not so proud when she allowed the king to sleep with her and she became pregnant. She left the kingdom to give birth and raise her son away from Uther. So that he couldn't be influenced like Arthur. Who was a spoiled prat when she last saw him. But when Uther summoned her, she could not ignore his call as it was her duty to protect him and she'd neglected her duties for nearly eight years. Needless to say she was surprised by how much things had changed since she left. Uther now had a ward, Arthur is now an adult and has a warlock for a servant. Not that she knows his one yet. But we'll get to that, this starts with Anneliese and Edmund (Her son)arrive in Camelot.
Anneliese's POV
My son and I arrive in Camelot. I dropped Swift our dog at our house. I was relieved when Uther allowed me to live there instead of the castle. I was handing my horse Ironclad to the stable hand when Edmund wondered away like the curious boy he was. I wasn't worried until I heard him scream. I race towards him and see two guards had him cornered and I see red.
I grab a broom and whack both over the head. Then stand in front of Edmund drawing my knife. "If you ever touch my son again, I'll kill you" I snap.
"Anneliese" says an older knight. "Stand down" he orders the younger ones.
"Why were these fools harassing my son?" I demand.
"I am so sorry, we are looking for a druid boy" he states.
"You mean that one?" I demand pointing to a boy running across the square holding his arm.
"Hey. There he is! Alert the rest of the guards!" he orders. "The king will want to see you" he tells me.
"Oh believe me, he will and he'll be getting an earful from me about your men attacking my son" I state. I then kneel before Edmund. "Are you alright my little protector?" I ask him gently and he nods his head. "Are you hurt?" I ask and he shakes his head. I sigh in relief and hug him close. "No more wondering off ok" I tell him and he nods his head.
I hold his hand and we head for the castle. I go to the council chambers and enter unannounced. "You dare enter without permission?" Uther demands.
"Yes I dare!" I snap. "Your guards just terrorized my son Uther!" I growl.
"Anneliese" he says shocked.
"Yes I'm back, now mind telling me why you are having your knights hunt down a young boy?" I demand.
"He is a druid" he states.
"He is a child" I state.
"Father, who is this?" a young man asks.
"Prince Arthur, you sure have grown a lot in eight years" I state. "Edmund, this is the boy I told you about" I tell my son.
"Hello" he says shyly.
"I did not know you had a child" Uther states looking at Edmund. "How old?" he asks.
"Seven" I state. "Don't you have an execution to over see?" I ask gesturing to the gathering crowd in the square. He nods and heads to the balcony with Arthur. "Wait here" I tell Edmund and go stand by the door to the balcony.
"People of Camelot, the man before you is guilty of using enchantments and magic. Under our law, the sentence for this crime is death. We're still searching for his accomplice. Anyone found harbouring the boy is guilty of conspiracy, and will be executed as a traitor. Let this serve as a warning to your people" Uther tells the crowd.
"You have let your fear of magic turn to hate. I pity you" the druid man states. Uther signals for him to be executed and he is. Arthur and Uther return.
