Carnivore Girls: Jurassic World

It's been twenty one years since Mary was born. She and her mother now work at Jurassic World along with her father Jake. Who is in charge of a top secret project. Which he does not tell them about. Jenny is in charge of Rexy and all dinosaur vet care. Mary helps out with all the carnivores. Though mainly the raptors. Lets follow Jenny and Mary's journey through the Jurassic World Trilogy. Starting with Jurassic World.

Mary's POV

Hi everyone, my name is Mary Raptor Hammond-Asger and I work at Jurassic World. Along with my parents Jennifer Hammond and Jake Asger. I help train the raptors and mentor their health. I am twenty-one years old. I think it's because of my mum and my dad that I am so obsessed with carnivores. Mum used to be called the carnivore girl and now I am called that.

Anyway, Jurassic World has been opened to the public for ten years. Mum has worked here since a year before it opened to the public, as she is the closest to an expert on taking care of sick or injured dinosaurs. She is the parks head vet. So I basically grew up in the park. Dad only started working here for five years and me for three years. Ever since I completed high school.

I never really had a boyfriend. As I grew up at Jurassic World and no one my age lived there. The only ones that visited that were my age are tourists. Who always leave. So why try dating any of them? It makes dad happy that I never dated anyone. Though I may have a small crush on the head raptor trainer Owen Grady. But he'd never like me as he is fourteen years older then me and I know he has a crush on Claire Dearing. The Jurassic World Operations Manager.

So dad has been in charge of a top secret project. Some new dinosaur that was made a few years ago. He won't tell me anything about it, only that it's a carnivore and bigger then Rexy. Mum is not happy about it, as she thinks it's wrong to make something bigger then Rexy after what happened on Ilsa Sorna  with the Spinosaurus. But no one listens to her. Which is stupid.

Anyway, today is a demonstration to see if the raptors can follow Owen's instructions. They may or may not. Even if they do listen, that's no guarantee they will listen to humans all the time. They are wild animals after all. Even if they have been bred in captive and imprinted on Owen & I. Well only Delta imprinted on me. The other three raptors, including the beta Blue imprinted on Owen. The last two raptors are Echo and Charlie.

I stand by Barry with a video camera as we watch Owen on the cat run above over looking the raptor paddock. Suddenly, a pig runs past, squealing with fright. Suddenly, it gets through a gate, and it closes. We see a raptor claw tapping impatiently. All four raptors appear from the foliage. "Hold!" Owen calls they do so coming to a halt under Owen. I smile, so far so good.

Owen clicks the clicker. "Eyes on me! Blue? Blue!" he calls and she looks up at him. With a silent snarl. No doubt annoyed at losing the pig. "Watch it" he tells her firmly. "Charlie. Hey! Don't give me that shit! Delta! Lock it up!" he orders. They obey. "Good! And we're moving" he says and walks along the cat walk. The four raptors follow under him.

"Hold!" he says when he stops. They freeze under him, all watching him. "That's good. That is damn good" he praises pressing his clicker again. He gives them each a dead rat for listening. "HOLD! Eyes up! Go" he yells leasing them. The Raptors scatter and disappear from sight. I stop recording and cheer with the others.

"You finally did it, man" Barry praises Owen shaking his hand.

"And I got it all on camera" I add feeling giddy.

"Awesome" Owen says. Just the Hoskins joins us. Ugh, he gives me the creeps.

"Owen. I was starting to think I hired the wrong guys. But, damn, you got them eating out of your palm" he states. Yeah, I am so not sticking around

"I'm gonna go do the report" I state and head to the communication room. I was in the middle of writing it when I hear there's a pig loose. I curse and rush outside. I see Owen enter the raptor pen and Barry enter the airlock. I join him and see Delta trying to sneak up on him. "Delta, I see you back up!" I order. She grumbles stepping away from Owen with a snarl.

"Okay, good. Good. Charlie? Stay right there. Good" Owen says. "Close the gate" he tells Barry and I.

"Are you crazy/insane?" Barry and I demand.

"Just trust me, close the gate" he tells us. I bite my lip and look at Barry feeling conflicted. Of course I trust Owen, but is this really a good idea? Owen slowly backs up towards the gate. Barry presses the button and the gate begins to close.

At the last possible second, Owen drops down and rolls underneath as the gate slams shut. The raptors try to follow and ram their heads into the metal. Barry and I help him to his feet as I give the raptors a pointed look. Most walk away but Echo eyes the new intern hungrily. "Are you ok?" I ask Owen.

"Yeah, I'm ok" he says. "You're the new guy, right?" he asks the intern. Who nods his head. "You ever wonder why there was a job opening? Hey. Don't ever turn your back to the cage" he tells him. The intern sees Echo and scampers away from the cage.

"Leave Echo or no dinner!" I snap. She grumbles and stands up. Walking away. I now have to write another report, the joy. I go back to the communication room to finish the first about the test. Then start an incident report. While Owen goes back to his Bungalow.
