Jahari was born different from her brother Mufasa. Her was pale white with some blonde highlights. Her eyes were a pale grey. Where as Mufasa was mainly brown, gold with a pale stomach. Yellow eyes. Just like both of their parents. Masego and Afia. But that didn't mean they loved their daughter any less then they loved Mufasa. Though they were more protective of her as they knew other lions would look down on her for her white fur. But they prayed one day to take both cubs to Milele where all are one. But things don't quiet go according to plan. Follow Jahari's story through out Mufasa the Lion King.
Afia's POV
I smile down at my son and he smiles up at me. Before we hear his sister crying. He looks around for her and I do the some. I frown as I see her outside. I go to get her when I hear a twig snap. I flatten my ears as I hold my son close scared.
"Why hello little one" I hear Masego say and sigh in relief.
"Please bring our daughter back into the den" I tell him. Our daughter meows in protest as he picks her up gently and brings her in. He places her beside my stomach and she goes to one of my tits. She begins to suckle and her brother joins her.
"We have two cubs?" Masego asks me with a proud smile.
"Yes, a son and daughter" I tell him with a smile also.
"They are perfect" he tells me nuzzling my head and I purr happily. "Have you named them yet?" he asks me.
"No, I was waiting for you my love" I tell him.
"Well I am here now" he tells me as he lays behind me watching our cubs drink. "We always said we'd name our son Mufasa, do you still wish to?" he ask me.
"Yes, I think it suits him" I tell him and lick Mufasa. He purrs happily as he continues to suckle. "But we could never decide on a name for girl" I remind him.
"What about Theluji? It means Snow" he suggests.
"Or we could call her Malkia, for queen" I suggest.
"No, neither sound right do they?" he asks me and I nod my head.
"Je-je" Mufasa meows and we look at him. "Jew" he says nuzzling his now sleeping sister.
"Is he trying to say Jewel?" Masego asks me.
"I think he is" I tell him with a smile.
"Jew-Jew!" Mufasa cheers hugging his sister.
"Jahari" Masego and I say smiling. Mufasa meows happily and we nuzzle him. He giggles and soon falls asleep with his sister Jahari. Which means Jewel. "I will go hunt tomorrow, for now sleep" he tells me and we both fall asleep.
(Time skip) Jahari's POV
I am stalking Mufasa silently as he just stands there. We are a few months old and live with our parents. It's just the four of us. Always has been. I don't look like the rest of my family. All of them a cream, tan and gold with yellow eyes. Where as I am white with grey eyes. But I have never felt unloved or not welcome. My family includes me on everything.
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, stalking my big brother. I crouch low and pounce on him. We start to mock fight each other and I soon have him pinned. "Hey, pinned you!" I cheer.
"Let me up" he says and I do so. He growls playfully and goes to pounce on me. But freezes when we hear our mother calling us.
"Jahari! Mufasa, come see!" she calls.
"Race you" I tell Mufasa and take off. He follows and beats me. I maybe able to pin him, but I've never been able to out run him.
"Mom, what is that light way out there?" Mufasa asks her.
"Oh, that's very special. Beyond the horizon, beyond the last cloud in the sky, that's a place we call Milele" she tells him.
"Milele?" we ask her curious. She'd never mentioned such a place before. We have always lived here in a wasteland. Where there is very little food or water. But all the animals here look out for each other. We live in harmony. Following and respecting the circle of life. Mum and dad have always taught us to respect all life on this planet. That the other animals will always be there to help us, we just have to ask.
Mufasa jumps onto dad's back to get a better look at the light. "Well, it means forever" mum tells us.
"Imagine a kingdom full of life, water and food, grass and sky as far as the eye can see" dad tells us. Mufasa jumps off of his back.
"I'd like to see that" I state as I nuzzle into dad's mane.
"Will we ever go there?" Mufasa asks our parents. As we lay in between them. Me next to dad and him on my right next to mum.
"Oh yes Mufasa, that is exactly where we are headed" mum tells him. "But we can also be there right now. We can close our eyes, let our dreams take us" she tells us.
