The three Gilmore Girls stand in the town center working on their snow-women, for the annual snow building contest. Rory and Lorelai decided to work
together, while Sabrina went solo.  She figured if she wanted any chance of winning she'd had to go in alone being the most artistic one in the family and all.

"How do you like that mouth?" Lorelai asks Rory

"Um, it's not very mouthlike."

"Oh, I think it works."

"It's tilted to the side."

"Yeah, no, it was intentional. It gives her a unique expression."

"Like she had a stroke?"

"Fine, I'll just use the Mrs. Potato Head lips."

"No, forget it, leave stroke-mouth. It's not like we're gonna win this anyway."

"Whoa, bad attitude."

"Mom, face it. That is the single most incredible snowman I have ever seen."

The three girls turn their heads to see a man working on an elaborate snowman sculpture.

"Screw that try-hard, what about my snow woman"
Sabrina beamed proudly

"Beautiful hun" Lorelai smiled down at her

"It's no Frosty" Rory scoffed

Sabrina rolled her eyes, she couldn't figure it out but for a few weeks now Rory has been very passive aggressive towards her. She can't tell if she's angry, annoyed or upset, whenever she asks Rory just slams the door in her face. As a result Sabrina has been very on edge around her and slowly trying to talk to her less and less. She'll come around she thought, she always does.

"Well I'm off" Sabrina stands up dusting snow off of her

"And where are you going" Lorelai ask suspiciously

"To see Jess" Sabrina tries to hide her blush

"Oooo your boyfriend" Lorelai teases

"Eww mom, he is so not my boyfriend"

"Sure hun, I'll see you later" She kisses Sabrina on the forehead and watches her run off

Although Lorelai isn't the biggest fan of Jess, she's glad her daughter has a real friend. Shes always been worried about Sabrina, she sees how overshadowed she gets by Rory. And although she can prevent that from happening in her own household she can't control the outside world or the people in it. She's happy Sabrina has found someone who doesn't favor Rory more than her, or use's Sabrina to get to Rory. Jess seems genuine to her daughter and that's enough for her.

"So when do you think they'll start dating" Lorelai jokingly ask Rory

"Didnt you hear her, it's not happening, they're not dating" Rory snaps and storms off

Sabrina hurries inside the diner, quickly greeting Luke and sprinting up the stairs.

"Jess Jess Jess Jess Jess" Sabrina was bursting with excitement

"Hey watch out-" Jess hurriedly gets up from his mattress on the floor trying to warn Sabrina about the wet floor but it was too late

Jess tries to catch her as she falls but ends up slipping himself, Sabrina landing on top of him but still hitting her head on the wooden floor

"Owww, what's with the floor, is Luke trying to build an indoor pool or what" Sabrina sits up rubbing the back of her head with her legs still draped over Jess

Jess sitting up as well places his hand on her knee "no a pipe burst, now what was so important you had to run in here like an escaped prisoner"

Both of the teens begin to stand up, Jess takes her hand and pulls her up off the floor leading her to his mattress, where they sit next to each other

"You'll never believe what I got in my bag" Sabrina smiles so big it looks like she's about to explode

Jess can't even try to hide his smile "what do you have"

Sabrina pulls out a book and places it in Jess' hand. He looks down at it and his jaw drops in shock, his hand traces the cover of the book like he's uncovering a delicate fossil.

"No way-"

"Yes way" Sabrina squeals still smiling so hard

"Is this real"

Sabrina nods her head so fast it hurts

"I can't believe you have this"

"No you can't believe you have this"

"What?" Jess looks at her confused

"Merry early Christmas" Sabrina's smile somehow gets wider her eyes squinting from joy

Jess not knowing how to react looks at her then back down at the book then back at her. Without even realizing or thinking he pulls her in for a hug, a strong tight one.

Sabrina taken aback freezes up for a second eventually relaxing into the embrace and wrapping her arms around him. It was the nicest hug ever, she felt like this was the first time she's ever been hugged in her life, every hug in her past seemed so minuscule, so unimportant. This was the only hug she ever needed and could live off of for the rest of her life.

They stayed in that embrace for an hour, but to them it felt like a lifetime.
