LOGAN

I quickly ran to my locker to grab some clothes for April. I looked through my bag for some clean clothes, but all I could find was my baggy sweatpants, a clean boxer, and a hoodie.

Better than nothing.

When I came back, she was still sitting on the floor in the locker room with tears streaming down her face.

I helped her up and handed her the clothes. She takes the clothes but she doesn't look at me. Her eyes are red and putty from crying.

She turns around and starts putting on my clothes. I stand there with my hand in my pockets, avoiding looking at her.

God how did things get so fucked up?

I don't rush her, and she doesn't either. I think she's just too tired to rush. She looks like a different person when she's upset.

"I'm done." Her voice is hoarse and barely above a whisper.

I grab the scrunche from my pocket and turn her around slowly. I gather her now light pink hair, running my fingers through it and gathering it into a low bun. I take my beanie and place it over her head once I'm done, and I can hear her sniffling.

I turn her around slowly again, and she immediately starts crying again. I wrap my arms around her, letting her cry into my chest.

"It's okay. I'm going to find it. I promise." I whisper and kiss the top of her forehead. "I'm going to make this right."

She sniffles and wipes her tears and snot with the sleeves of my hoodie. "Sorry... I'll wash it.." she mumbles like she's going to cry again while looking down at the sleeves.

I smile and wipe under her chin. "Keep it. It looks better on you anyway."

She looks up at me with a pout and on the verge of tears again. "Thank you."

"Let's get you home, okay?"

She nods, and I grab the trash bag with her clothes before leading her out of the locker room. The hallways are empty, which is good. The last thing I want is everyone pointing and gawking at her like she's on display.

Just as we're about to leave, Ally runs up to us and attacks April with a bear hug.

"I'm so sorry." Ally says to her over and over again.

April looks at me confused, but I shrug, so she just pats Ally's back.

"It's fine. It's not your fault." April said to her and tried to get past her back to me so we could leave, but Ally stopped her again.

"No, April, it is. I told Lauren about the locket. I told her about you and Logan. I'm sorry it just slipped out, and I just I'm so sorry." Ally rants. "I just couldn't stop myself."

I shake my head in disbelief. Of course, Lauren is involved in this bullshit.

April stares at Ally before she pushes her roughly and walks past both of us to the exit. Ally tries to grab her, but I stop her.

"Logan, please, I'm sorry I -"

"Don't. Just don't." I say to her and follow April out the doors.

I jog to my car where she's was standing, and I unlock the door for her to get in. Once we get in, I start the car, but she brings her knees to her chest and pulls the hood of the hoodie over her head.

"Wanna talk about it?" I ask.

"No." She says coldly, and I nod.

It she was like a shell of her former self. The strong and confident April I knew was gone, replaced by a broken and defeated girl.

The car ride was quiet. I didn't know what to say, and I'm pretty sure she didn't want to talk.

When we reached the house, April jumped out and slammed my car door. When we got inside, her mom was sitting on the couch watching TV but stood up when she saw us.

"Logan? April? Why are you home?" She asked, confused.

April took off the hood and beanie, revealing her hair, and started crying.

She quickly enveloped April in a hug, and she broke down into her mother's arms.

"They took it, mom. They took it."

I dropped her bag onto the floor and quickly ran out of the house, getting back in my car. I was furious, but I couldn't let April see that. I know I should've stayed, but she needs her mom more than me right now.

I drove back to school, my anger boiling inside me. I've never driven so fast and recklessly in my life. The things I wanted to do to Lauren right now was down right fucking illegal.

I stormed into the hallway, I saw Lauren surrounded by her friends, laughing and chatting as if nothing had happened. I couldn't contain my anger any longer.

I grabbed her arm and pulled her into the nearby locker room, ignoring the shocked looks from her friends.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I yelled once we were alone.

Lauren just smirked. "I have no idea what you're talking about." She said smugly.

"Don't play dumb with me, Lauren. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Where is April's locket?" I growled, my grip on her arm tightening.

"I don't have it. Maybe she lost it or something," she replied nonchalantly, trying to brush off the situation.

I could feel my anger rising, and I wanted to hit her right then and there.

"This isn't a fucking joke!"

"Why are you even so fucking obsessed with her? I've never seen you mad for me." She complains, and then she places her hand on my groin. "Come on baby, let's just forget this happened, okay?"

I could feel my blood boiling at her audacity. I roughly moved her hand away from me.

"Are you kidding me? Do you think I would ever get back together with you after the stunts you pulled? You're delusional," I spat out, my voice dripping with contempt.

Lauren's demeanor changed, and she tried to play the victim. "You can't blame me for trying. You're the one who ended things with me, remember? I was just trying to win you back."

"You call that trying? You ruined her life just to get back at me. You crossed a line, Lauren, and you're going to pay for it unless you give me the fucking locket." I said, my voice low and threatening.

She stared up at me angrily, and I could tell she was going to cry, but I didn't care.

Finally, she gave in and handed me the locket, but she didn't apologize. I wanted to hit her, but I knew that wouldn't solve anything.

"You're fucking dead to me got that?" I said to her and finally the tears from her eyes. "Don't ever speak to me again."
