Pierce watched from across the street, hidden in the shadows, as Damian spoke to the kind old lady and borrowed her phone. A sinister smile played on his lips as he observed Damian's apparent relief at the prospect of help arriving soon. For now, he decided to bide his time, allowing Damian to believe he was safe before he made his move again.

As Damian spoke into the phone, Pierce's gaze narrowed, his mind already plotting his next move. He knew that Damian's moment of freedom would be short-lived, and he relished the thought of watching the fear return to Damian's eyes when he realized that he was still in Pierce's grasp.

With a silent vow to make Damian pay for his defiance, Pierce melted further into the darkness, disappearing from view as he waited patiently for the perfect opportunity to strike once more.

As Damian spotted Asher's sleek black BMW pulling up to the curb, a surge of relief washed over him. He thanked the old lady profusely, giving her a warm hug in gratitude, before stepping forward to meet Asher.

The moment Asher stepped out of the car, Damian rushed toward him, his emotions threatening to overwhelm him once more. He threw himself into Asher's arms, clinging to him tightly as if afraid to let go. "Asher," he breathed, his voice thick with emotion. "I'm so sorry. I should've listened to you."

Asher wrapped his arms protectively around Damian, offering him comfort and reassurance. "It's okay, Damian," he said softly, his voice filled with warmth and understanding. "You're safe now. That's all that matters."

Together, they stood in the embrace for a moment longer, drawing strength from each other's presence before finally pulling back. Damian wiped away the tears that had gathered in his eyes, his gaze meeting Asher's with a mixture of gratitude and determination. "Thank you," he said sincerely. "For everything."

Asher offered Damian a reassuring smile, his eyes reflecting unwavering support. "Anytime, Damian," he replied. "Let's get you home." With that, he opened the door to the BMW, gesturing for Damian to climb inside.

As Damian settled into the passenger seat, he couldn't help but feel a sense of overwhelming gratitude toward Asher. Despite everything that had happened, he knew that he was fortunate to have a friend like Asher by his side. And as they drove away from the chaos of the city streets, Damian felt a glimmer of hope begin to blossom in his heart, knowing that with Asher's support, he could overcome whatever challenges lay ahead.

Before they left, the old lady approached Asher, handing him a slip of paper with her phone number written on it. "Please hand this to him, if he ever needs comforting. And take care of him," she said, her voice tinged with concern. "And be careful of that man. He's been staring at Damian." She pointed across the busy street.

Asher nodded solemnly. When he sat inside his car, he turned into the direction the lady pointed at. There was no one watching them. He knew he'd still have to be wary about Pierce following Damian.

"I'm so sorry, Asher," Damian began, his voice tinged with regret. "I should've listened to you. I never should've gone with him."

Asher glanced over at Damian, his expression filled with understanding and empathy. "It's okay, Damian," he replied gently. "None of this is your fault."

Damian sighed, his gaze fixed on the passing scenery outside the window. "I just can't believe I fell for his lies," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "He seemed so kind, so convincing."

Asher reached out, placing a comforting hand on Damian's shoulder. "It's not your fault," he reiterated, his tone firm and reassuring. "Pierce is a master manipulator. He knows how to prey on people's vulnerabilities."
