The next morning was awkward. Somehow, all five of them ended up waking up at the same time and now they all just sat in awkward silence. 

Beomgyu looked at Kai, who was not meeting his eyes for some reason. And he felt a weird vibe coming from everyone else as well. Did something happen?

Yeonjun got up from his bed first, yawning and stretching at the same time. "Jeez, what's with the awkwardness? Y'all need me to introduce all of you or something?"

Beomgyu frowned, why would that have to happen?

"I know only Yeonjun and Soobin here...you two are?" asked Taehyun, looking in Kai and Beomgyu direction. 

"What do you mean you don't know who we are? Is this some joke? Taehyun, what is wr--"

Kai immediately placed his hand on Beomgyu's leg. "Ignore him, he's extremely cranky in the morning. Anyways, I'm Kai and I'm in the mass media department and this is my childhood friend, Beomgyu who's in the law department."

"Oh law department?" repeated Taehyun. "That makes me your direct sunbae, then. But don't talk to me much, I don't like people."

"Aww, Taehyun likes to behave like a black cat sometimes. He likes only me." said Yeonjun, grinning. 

"Shut up, who said I liked you either? Anyways, I'm going to go. Socializing is not my cup of tea. Y'all enjoy." and Taehyun left. 

Beomgyu was confused. He immediately got up and went after Taehyun. 

"Beomgyu---" said Kai but he had already left. What would he say to him? Kai himself was still reeling in the fact that he had erased Taehyun's memories and along with that he also had to erase some of Yeonjun's and Soobin's as well. Beomgyu wouldn't understand what it meant to go against the value you stood for. 

Kai hated what he had done. 

But deep down he knew that he wouldn't have had any other way to do it. He just couldn't let Taehyun ruin their mission. 

He couldn't bear to create more greys in this world.

Beomgyu walked behind Taehyun. 

"Taehyun!" called Beomgyu. Taehyun turned around with a frown on his face. He raised an eyebrow. 

"Aren't you supposed to call me sunbae? I didn't know we were on first name basis." said Taehyun. 

Beomgyu merely stared at Taehyun. Something was off. It was almost as if...as if...Taehyun couldn't remember Beomgyu. 

"Have we met before?" asked Beomgyu. 

Taehyun rolled his eyes. "That's such a cliché way to start conversation but sorry, I'm not interested."

Beomgyu tapped into Taehyun's thoughts. 

What's the deal with this guy? Is he interested in me or something? Hmm, he's cute but not my type 

And that's when Beomgyu knew. 

Without even uttering a word to Taehyun, he immediately turned back towards the room.

"Literally no one drinks pocari sweat." said Soobin, walking out of the room. "And why are you following me?"

Yeonjun was about to reply when they both saw Beomgyu whoosh past them into the room. Yeonjun and Soobin exchanged glances. 

"Is it just me or did he seem really angry?" 

"Yeah but why's he going to into the room then---oh...Kai." 

Soobin instantly became worried. He had a gist of whatever Kai and Beomgyu's relationship was. At least he knew whatever Kai told him. 

Both of them immediately turned to go back to the room. 

"WHAT DID YOU DO?" they heard Beomgyu yell. Beomgyu was standing in the room, holding Kai's collar. "WHY DID YOU DO THAT?"

Yeonjun slightly winced. He had seen his share of fights, been part of them also a couple of times but emotional fights? Those weren't his cup of tea. He turned towards Soobin but there was no one beside him. Yeonjun groaned as Soobin walked into the fight. Could he just not stay out? Sometimes punching the shit out of each other was also a good solution. 

But Yeonjun wanted to behave like a good guy in front of Soobin. He needed to do that if he wanted Soobin to fall in love with him. Yeonjun sighed. 

"Don't yell, Beomgyu and let go of Kai." said Soobin, standing beside them. 

Beomgyu turned and glared at Soobin, a glare so fierce that Soobin felt immensely intimidated by it. 

"Stay out of it."

Kai looked at Beomgyu. "It's all because of you. You think I wanted to do it? I had no choice, Beomgyu. All I've been doing since we came here is clean up after your ass. That's all I've done. And I had to it this time as well."

"You had no right to." replied Beomgyu. 

"I KNOW! I know. I know it too well. But you have no right to tell me that either. It's fine when it's others but when it comes to someone you care about, it's a problem? It's not always about you, Beomgyu. You do things when you deem them necessary and this time I did the same thing."

Yeonjun merely stood beside Soobin. If Beomgyu decided to get physical, he would intervene. But it sounded like they were arguing over a lover. Maybe they both liked the same person or something. 

"I don't care about him. He was just someone I needed." 

Kai rolled his eyes. "Keep lying to yourself. I saw inside. You didn't. And now you'll never know what went on inside."

Beomgyu raised his fist to punch Kai but Yeonjun immediately went and grabbed Beomgyu's arm. "Don't do it."

Beomgyu glared at Yeonjun. "You don't tell me what to do."

Yeonjun raised an eyebrow. This guy really needed an ego blow. "Yeah, sure. Try punching him again, I dare you."

Kai straightened his shirt, finally being released from Beomgyu's clutch. Soobin looked at him worried, "Are you okay?"

Kai nodded and walked towards Beomgyu. 

"Now you'll know how painful it is to erase one's memories. You'll understand how it affects not only that person but us as well. Maybe you'll also realize the humans are not our tools."

Kai walked towards to door and turned towards Beomgyu, looking at Beomgyu dead center. "You'll realize what a shit Amatorian you are."

 He momentarily closed his eyes and erased the last lines of the argument from Soobin and Yeonjun's mind. If he wanted he could've erased the entire conversation, make it like it never happened. But he wanted Soobin and Yeonjun to realize what a terrible and insecure person Beomgyu was. Kai didn't care if he was being petty. He was tired of being nice. 

And then he left the room, wordlessly.
