I can't believe they stood me up! I pulled my dress over my head and stood in the middle of the living room, completely lost. Deep down I was really looking forward to this, but now, Hannah is thirty minutes late and not answering the phone.
I suppose I could change the bed sheets for the hundredth time. It's either that or job hunting which is slow and painful so I am absolutely not doing that.
But I'm gonna have to eventually.
I went and sprawled out across the bed, contemplating whether or not life was worth living, a decision I had been contemplating for while. It was then I heard a message on my phone and I could have sworn it was Hannah, but it wasn't. It was Jake.
Hi! Enjoying your night out? I'm surprised you managed to convince her. Have fun!
It was clear the message was for Hannah but I still appreciated it just the same. He was still looking out for me behind the scenes despite me blowing up at him.
I sighed. I really messed this one up.
Okay. There's about a 90% chance that they're both gonna come and support me at the vigil. I'll clear the air then once and for all.
