Chapter 21: Lady Foxes

"That's my boyfriend's fox bead. Why do you have it?" She yelled, and her voice was angry and full of a sense of urgency.

Jiyeon and Han-neul looked at each other confused, not sure what to do. Jiyeon had a hard time figuring out what was going on because her thoughts were racing. She asked again, her voice trembling a little, "Your... boyfriend's fox bead?"

She took a scary step forward, and her eyes got narrow. "Don't play games with me," she growled, sending chills down Jiyeon's spine. "My fiancé owns that fox bead. I can feel it here."

Han-neul moved forward, keeping a stance that made him look safe. He said, "We don't know what you're talking about," trying to keep his cool as the stress rose.

Jiyeon's mind was racing as she tried to figure out what was going on. The fox bead, my fiancé, and the strange events of the last few days seemed to come together at this very moment. A strong feeling kept coming back to her—that they were about to find something very important that would change everything.

"That fox has a girlfriend." Jiyeon thought

The woman's eyes were red with anger, but she couldn't say anything because a scary growl cut through the air. A tall, intimidating figure came out of the shadows and grabbed everyone's attention. Jiyeon and Han-neul couldn't help but look.

Ryu emerged, revealing his beautiful dragon form to everyone. He had a very intense look in his eyes, and his scales sparkled in the fire's moving light. As he took a step forward, there was an obvious energy in the air that made him seem strong and in charge.

"Hold on, gumiho. You can't hurt them." Ryu's strong voice echoed through the air, sending shock waves. He looked around the group, and then his intense eyes locked on the Gumiho woman.

As the gumiho woman took a step back, her face changed from angry to unsure. She quickly glanced at her friend, who stood next to her and looked wary.

In a softer, scarier voice, the gumiho woman said, "We mean no harm. The only thing we want is to get back what is ours."

With a mean look in his eyes, Ryu flicked his tail behind him. He asked in a loud, authoritative voice, "And what is that?"

The gumiho woman stopped and looked back and forth between Ryu, Han-neul, and Jiyeon. Lastly, she said, "The fox bead," but her voice was barely above a whisper. "resides in that human woman."

With a confused look on his face, Han-neul looked at Jiyeon. "Could you possibly have those monsters...."

"We are not monsters..." Hye-sun suddenly cut Han-fuel off.

"Those demons..." Han-neul said, but Hye-sun suddenly cut Han-neul off.

"I'll eat you if you say something insulting again!" Hye-sun yelled in anger.

Han-neul quieted down with a sigh. "Tell me if you understand what they're saying."

By the time Ryu finds out that Jiyeon can't tell Han-neul about the fox bead, he has already gone up to her. When the dragon's hand touched Han-neul on the shoulder, he collapsed from shock and passed out.

Han-neul had passed out and fallen onto the grass next to Jiyeon.

"Now answer me. That fox bead belongs to my boyfriend. Why do you have it?" Lady Gumiho asked

Jiyeon stared at the gumiho, scared yet determined. She was ready to fight if that was what it took. Jiyeon said, "I have no idea what you are talking about." Her voice stayed cool, even though she was upset inside. "As you say, I have the bead, but I have no idea how it came to me."

A gumiho woman looked at Jiyeon with a serious face. In a furious voice, she spat, "Liar! I'll take that bead from you no matter what."

Suddenly, Hye-sun attacks Jiyeon. Swiftly, Jiyeon avoided answering. Imagine Jiyeon deftly evading Hye-Sun's attacks without resistance.

She quickly moved toward Jiyeon when she tripped. But just as she was about to reach Jiyeon, Minwoo stepped in out of the blue, shocking everyone except Ryu.

"You're awesome, fox." As Ryu spoke, he smiled slyly.

Seeing the fox disappear into the distance made Jiyeon feel uneasy. He watched the beautiful way its airy tails moved. He slowly moved backward when, all of a sudden, there was lightning, thunder, and a strong gust of wind.

"If you dare hurt this girl, I will be the one to report you," I yelled, Minwoo

Hye-sun calmed down again after a short time. After Minwoo did the same thing, the lightning, thunder, and strong winds stopped for some reason.

Say "Brother!" Aya hurried toward Minwoo with a happy smile on her face.

Aya stopped in front of Minwoo. Putting his hand on his brother's head and gently massaging it with a smile made him smile. Ryu looked at his brothers again, but this time his attention was on Aya. But the girl didn't seem to care at all that he was there.

A chance came up for Jiyeon, and she quickly ran away.

"That girl is running away!" Hye-sun let out a scream, making it clear that she was ready to chase. Minwoo quickly stepped in, though, and stopped her.

"I told you to stop, Hye-sun." Minwoo said, "Also, I'm not your boyfriend or fiancé. I already heard what you said."

A frown formed on Hye-sun's face. "You act like we won't get together in the end. You're just in the indential stage."

"Brother, we thought you were here because we spotted the fox bead, but we saw her. She has the fox bead in her. Hye-sun was shocked because we didn't see you." Aya explained. "Why is your fox bead on that girl?"

"Let me explain later. For now, change into a human being. I have my car with me. Let's go inside." Minwoo spoke up.

Quickly, Aya, Hye-sun, and Ryu changed. "Let's leave," Minwoo spoke up.

"What about him?" Aya inquired as she pointed to Han-neul, who was out cold.

"Ryu is taking care of him," Minwoo spoke up.

"What?" Ryu asked, "Why me?"

"You made him sleep." He put his arm around Aya's shoulder, and Hye-sun quickly hugged his other arm.

Although Han-neul was asleep, Ryu carefully picked him up as they walked to the car.
