~~~Three Months Pregnant~~~
I gasp as I wake up from another nightmare. In this one, the babies all died and Crescent killed himself out of sadness. I just can't take this anymore. . .
I slow my breathing, then roll over to see that Crescent is awake. He stares at me with those wonderful blue eyes.
"Why are you up?" I ask, glancing at the time. It's six in the morning.
"I just can't sleep," he replies quietly.
I sigh, "Me either."
"Moon, I've been thinking. . ."
"Yeah?"
"If I do end up dying from trying to give birth or something, will you be okay?"
My heart skips a beat. Did he seriously just ask that?
"No!" I snap. "Don't speak like that, moron. Just because I have wild dreams doesn't mean anything is going to happen. I'll protect you, no matter what. You'll be fine."
His eyes well up with tears.
"Uh, no, I didn't mean to call you a moron. Please, don't cry!" I plead.
I hold him as he cries, knowing it wasn't just my harsh words he's upset about. He tries to hide it, but he's just as worried about this pregnancy as I am.
"So what's been going on with you guys lately?" I ask my uncles as I feed Crescent another bite of steak.
"Well, we went and got married at a courthouse, but something was missing. We think we want to do a real ceremony," Greg replies, looking at his mate lovingly.
"Really? Wolves don't really do traditional ceremonies," I reply, a little confused as to why they'd want to do something so human.
"We just thought it would be a cool idea," Clarke shrugs. "It would take a few months to plan, but I want to go ahead with it."
"What are you even talking about?" Crescent pipes up.
"Clarke and Greg are gonna have a wedding," I reply.
"Oh. But what happens at a wedding?" he asks.
"Well," Clarke begins. "We go to a church with all our friends and family, and it's very fancy. I walk down the aisle, then me and Greg promise to love each other forever. We kiss, and then we have a party. That's pretty much it."
"Wow," Crescent says quietly.
"What about you being pregnant?" I ask Clarke.
"Eh, lots of people get married while they're pregnant. As long as I'm still feeling good and everything, it'll be fine," he replies.
"Moon, can we have a wedding?" Crescent asks shyly.
"Maybe in the future. When you're a little older."
"Why not now?" he pouts.
I purse my lips, "Just because. Be patient."
He wrinkles his forehead and frowns, obviously mad. He doesn't understand that he has to be an adult for us to be legally married.
Today, we're going to a pregnant yoga class. We'll do this every week until Crescent is too pregnant to move around that much. I seriously don't want to go to this, but my mate begged me. But then again I get to see him in tight yoga pants, so maybe it's worth it.
