Chapter 23

Leilani's POV

As soon as Alex walked out, Kelly rushed back in. "Were you eavesdropping.?" I asked. "Lei!" I heard Sophia scream. Kelly shrugged showing me her phone.

She was on a video call with Sophia. "You told her?" I asked sitting up. "Nope. You're going to." Kelly said handing me her phone. I filled Sophia in on everything. Kelly giggled as she listened and Sophia squealed.

There was a knock on her door. "Who is it?" Sophia asked. "It's me, dear." A male voice responded. Probably her mum's boyfriend. "What do you want?" She asked rolling her eyes.

"I just wanted to let you know dinner is ready. I made your favorite. "The man said. "I'm not hungry. " Sophia said. "You haven't come out of your room since breakfast." He said.

"Go away, Daniel. " she responded. "Ok dear whenever you're ready. It's Philip by the way." He said sounding sad.

"I'm a bitch, aren't i?" Sophia asked. "You will be if you don't cut the poor guy some slack. You know your father wouldn't like this." I said. "Well, health wise, i think you should go." Kelly said.

"Well I'm starving. I'll speak to you guys later though. Bye." Sophia said hanging up. "Oh i actually wanted to show you something. "Kelly suddenly said. "What?" I asked.

"Just come with. "She said pulling me up and out of the room. "Hey girls." Debbie greeted as we rushed past her. "Hey mum." "Hi Debbie. " we said back.

We went down the stairs and saw the boys in the living room. I immediately joined Cole and he handed me some snacks. He gave Kelly some oreos and we headed out.

"Will you tell me where we're going in such a rush?" I asked. "Most packs wanted to remember their Queen but Uncle Cal went all out." She said leading  me to the garage.

"And it's in the garage? " i asked confused. "No, but if we want to make it back by dinner we can't go there on foot. " she said. She stopped in front of a motorcycle. "Come on. It'll be fun." She said when i hesitated.

She got on and I carefully sat behind her. "You sure you know how to ride this thing?" I asked when she started it. "Yeah, trust me." She said slowly making her way our off the garage before speeding off.

I held her tightly not wanting to fall. I liked the thrill of this. My hair was definitely a mess but I didn't care. We eventually came to a stop. We were in front of the pack orphanage.

I gave Kelly a questioning look."Follow me." She said getting off the bike. I did as she said and followed her. People bowed their heads down as we passed.

We went into the building. Kids were running around and playing but I was concerned. They're a lot of orphans here. Kelly led me to an office. She knocked and walked in.

"Hey Jenna." Kelly greeted the young woman. "Kelly, what brings you by?" The lady asked. She was beautiful. She had beautiful red hair and bright blue eyes. Kelly pointed at me.

"Oh my, Abigail told me the princess was here but i hadn't seen it for myself. It's an honour to meet you, princess." Jenna said bowing down in respect.

"Please, just Lani is fine." I said with a smile. "You really do look exactly like her." She said in bewilderment. "Thanks." I said. "I brought her here to see the honour hall. I just wanted to see you first. Is Abby here ?" Kelly asked.

"She's helping out at the pack hospital today." Jenna responded. "That girl is never seen at one place. " Kelly chuckled.

"Anyway, I'm going to show Lani around before Bertha grounds me for being late." Kelly said leading me out. I waved at Jenna before shutting the door.

"Everyone in this pack is pretty." I murmured. "That's why you fit in perfectly. " Kelly said nudging me playfully. "Thanks." I responded. "Here we are. " she said stopping in front of a large brown door.

She opened it and i was shocked. It was a literal honour hall. I stepped in with my jaw dropped. It was a long room with a long red carpet. I walked through the hall looking at pictures of my mum at both sides of the room.

Some of the pictures were of her before she met dad. She was with my grandparents and uncle Gavin. They both had goofy smiles on their faces. I stopped in the middle of the room.

Right in front of me was a life like statue of my mum. One could easily mistake this to be a statue of me. "Wow we really do look alike." I muttered in a daze. I couldn't take my eyes off the statue.

"Kelly, i love this and i know you mean well but can we leave?" I asked when i felt tears trying to escape. "Of course." She said quickly. We hurriedly left the honour hall and I rushed out trying to remember where we came from.

I ended up outside the orphanage and quickly wiped the tears that managed to fall. "I'm so sorry Lani. I just thought you'd want to see it. That was so inconsiderate. "Kelly apologized.

"No,no. Of course not. Thank you for bringing me here, Kelly. I loved it. You're a great friend. " i said hugging her. She hugged me back and we stood in silence for a moment.

"We better get back." I said when we pulled away. "Yeah. Wanna drive?" Kelly asked. "We'll crash before the orphanage is out of sight ." I said chuckling. "It's really not that hard. It's like riding a bicycle. Except no pedals and there's an engine. "She said.

"I'll be right behind you if I need to take control ." She said. "Dad would never agree to this. I'm so in." I said climbing up. "Sweet." Kelly said getting on too. "Okay, start it."Kelly instructed.

I nodded. "So do i just twist this thing or what?" I asked twisting the handles like in the movies. The bike started speeding down the road and we screamed.

"Go left!" Kelly screamed. I turned the bike to the left. "This is awesome!" I screamed. "Right!" Kelly said."Yeah. "I responded. "No i mean go right!" Kelly said. I immediately turned right.

The rest of the ride was Kelly just showing me directions. We eventually  got back to the pack house. "Kelly, how do i stop this thing? "I asked as we approached the garage with great speed.

Kelly screamed and pushed some button that opened the garage door. She reached across me and managed to slow down the bike which went screeching towards a gold coloured car.

Luckily the bike only dented it. "Are you okay?" Kelly asked. "I'm great. This was amazing. " i said still feeling the rush of excitement. "Whose car is that?" I asked worried.

"Shaun."she responded with a shrug. "He's going to be pissed isn't he? What do we do? What do we do?" I asked panicking. "Lani relax. Shaun's just gonna get it fixed. It really isn't a problem. "She said.

We looked at each other and burst out laughing. "Girl your hair is a mess." Kelly said laughing. "You look like you were attacked by an angry bear." I said laughing.

We walked into the house still laughing.
