Chapter 55

Leilani's POV

Kelly and I were still going through what to wear when someone knocked. "Come in." Kelly called.

"Hey guys...amazing news, Shaun just met his dad. Totally unrelated note, where's the first aid kit?" Cole asked.
"What do you mean Shaun just met his dad?" I asked.

"Cole, what's going on? Get out of the way." Kelly said pushing past Cole. "Lani, maybe we should just wait here." Cole said when I got up to follow Kelly.

I rolled my eyes and pushed him aside. "Well, I tried. "He muttered following me downstairs. "Alex? What happened?" I asked rushing over to his side.

"I'm fine." He responded. "You're bleeding." I exclaimed as Kelly came over with the med kit. "I'll heal quickly, Kels go check up on Shaun." Alex said.

"Why? Did he actually hurt his own son?" Kelly growled. "He isn't physically hurt, he just locked himself up in his room."Cole sighed. "Al, go." Kelly ordered as she cleaned up the wound.

"First of all, don't tell me what to do. Secondly, I don't know if you've noticed but I'm not the most sympathetic person in the world." Alan stated.

"Trust me, I've noticed. I'll go when I'm done. " Kelly muttered. "I can't believe you went after the rogue king. "Kelly said. "Ow." Alex winced. "Kelly. " I warned.

"Sorry sorry."she muttered and carefully continued. "Okay, I'm done. Alex just stay there and try to heal. I'm going to talk to Shaun. "Kelly said.

"Why are you glaring at me?" Alex asked. "You went and got yourself in trouble." I responded. "No, I went for a run when an insane rogue attacked me." Alex retorted.

"You could have killed him." Alan muttered. "I'm not killing Shaun's dad." Alex retorted. "We can't kill him and he's attacking? What are we supposed to do then?" Cole growled.

"We'll figure something else. For now, no one kills him." I stated. "Umm...you're not the boss of me." Alan muttered. "She kinda is, dude." Cole said.

"Whatever, I'm going to pick up Cole junior from school. "Cole said. "Still not his name." I said. Alex chuckled, he used his other hand to tuck a strand of my hair behind my ear.

Cole rolled his eyes. "Okay, I'm coming with. I'm not staying with these two." Alan muttered. They both headed out leaving Alex and I alone.

He was laying down on the couch and I was kneeling beside him. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked. He smiled.

"I don't know if it's the blood that I lost but, you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."he whispered leaning in. I closed the space between us and kissed him. I don't know how I was living without him.

The rest of the day was pretty much uneventful. Well except Calvin and Debbie fussing over Alex when they got home.

Today is the day. It's Cole and Kelly's birthday. I got ready for the day and headed out. Kelly was already out in the hallway.

"Happy-" I was cut off with a hand over my mouth. It was Alan. "How could you do this to me?" Kelly screamed angrily. "I thought you wouldn't understand." Shaun responded trying to get closer.

"Stay the fuck away from me. What exactly wouldn't I understand?" Kelly asked flinging a vase in his direction. He dodged and it shuttered into pieces when it hit the wall.

Alex was standing outside his room and so was Cole. Nevel was standing next to him looking confused whereas Cole looked pissed.

"What is going on down here?" Bertha asked coming down. "I thought you'd reject me. I was scared, Kels." Shaun said. "Too scared to tell me I'm your fucking mate!" Kelly screamed.
