We all know Ramadan is the month when we all set our goals to change and in shaa Allah this year and this month we will change, for the good, we will become better Muslims and we will stay like this in shaa Allah!!!
I won't drop words about change, i will just tell you stories of people who really changed!! Stories of people who had sins as high as mount Everest and yet they changed, stories about sinful people, like me, like you, and like everyone else and yet they decided to change and Allah subhanahu w t'aala guided them
Story #1
A theif at times was so famous and feared. He was known everywhere and people feares him, he was rutheless, heartless, and didn't care about anything!!!
One day he was walking in the streets and saw two men one poor and the other rich standing in front of a bread store, the poor guy had just bought the last loaf of bread which made the rich man angry, so he paid the merchant double the price and took the last loaf of bread
"Please sir!! The bread is for my daughters!! We don't have any food in the house, and if i don't take it they might starve!! Please sir!! We eat on daily bases and i don't if i can afford tomorrow, they might starve for days!! Please sir i beg you!!!" The poor man begged the rich one, but he refused and pushed him away and said that the bread was his
The theif was watching and for the very first time ever, he cared, he got angry and went and paid qaudrable the price of the bread and then the rich man paid more they both kept adding in price until the theif took the bread and gave it to the poor man
"Than you son!! Jazzakallah!" The man said
"Oh sir!! Please tell your daughters if they ate this tonight to make dua for me!!" With that the theif left
He knew that what he was doing was wrong, and the first step to the change was the dua of the girls
Years passed and the theif wanted so badly to change, so he decided to marry!! But the problem was that no one would give him his daughter as a wife, after all he is nothing by a theif!!
So he went and bought a servant, and then set her free asking her hand in marriage! He married her and loved her so much and a year later he got a girl named Fatima!!
He loved his daughter Fatima dearly and he would always enjoy his time with her, yet he didn't change!! He kept on drinking and doing haraam things and sometimes when Fatima would sit in his lap, she would push the beer bottle away saying "i hate this daddy!!" He wanted to quit it for her, but he found it so hard!!
One day, his daughter had a fever and died!! He got devastated and began drinking as if there was no tomorrow, drinking and drinking... he spent his nights restless but one day he accidently fell asleep....
He had a dream, and in his dream there was a huge dragon chasing him in a direction that led to hell fire, jahannam!! The dragon was so big and scary so he ran in the other direction where he found a sea and on the shore there was an old man!!
He immediately asked the man for help but he was so fragile that he couldn't talk so he barely pointed to a direction. The theif immediately followed the direction and found a cave with little holes in it!!
He immediately knew the holes were for the daughters of the poor man!! Suddenly, the girls began yelling "oh Fatima!! Come and save your dad!!" And hearing this, Fatima emerged and rushed to her dad
She looked at him and said "oh daddy!! Look at what have you done!! You have only one single good deed and look how weak and fragile it is!!"
It was the deed when he helped the poor
"And look to your bad deeds!! How huge they are!! Daddy you must change before it is too late!!" The daughter said and out of nowhere he heard the following ayah being recited
Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth?
He woke up and the words he kept repeating were "yes it has!!! Yes it has!!"
He rushed to the masjid and the shaykh was praying fajer and he was reciting this ayah!! So the theif began crying and crying until the shaykh stopped (some say the shaykh was imam asshaf'ee) and began explaining the ayah
It was the night when he decided to change, so he packed his luggage and went to Al Madina Al Monawwara where he learned Islam and all his rules and basis and became one of the most famous scholars of our time,
Untill now, he has many books and we always read for him

He was imam Malik rahimaho Allah!!!
So after all of this, don't you think that me, you a d everyone else, has the power to change!!!!
