Ancient Rome - Imperial Palace
The Gate next deposited Brooklyn and young Chamberlain in a bright, enormous room. The flames disappeared and there were humans standing around in awe of them, gasping at what had just happened before them. Brook and Sil held their heads to clear it of the brain fog and looked around themselves.
Brooklyn saw that the humans were wearing tunics and sashes around their middles, and sandals. He had seen enough tv and read books enough to know that they reminded him of ancient Rome and Greek tales. Was it possible they were in ancient Greece or Rome?
There were many courtiers and there were some guards in the room as well, carrying spears. But they made no threatening moves toward them.
"Where are we now, Brooklyn?" Sil asked nervously. He was still nervous of strange humans.
"I'm not sure, Sil, but from the look of these humans, they remind me of Romans or Greeks." Brooklyn replied to his young friend.
"This is Rome indeed, winged one." A male voice told them. They turned around and there before them was a man on a throne, wearing a purple tunic and also wearing a wreath crown on his head.
Brooklyn and Sil walked up to the throne. "Follow what I do, Sil." Brook whispered to Sil. He knew this was a royal leader. "Okay." Sil replied.
Sil then saw Brooklyn spread his wings out and then bring them in for a bow, bending over. "Uh, it's nice to make your acquaintance, Your Highness." Brooklyn said respectively. Sil bowed as well. He had never done such a thing but he had seen in movies about bowing to royal leaders.
"Thank you, kind sir. May I ask your names?" The emperor asked.
"I am Brooklyn, and this is my young friend, Sil, but also known as Chamberlain." Brooklyn declared. They both now stood up straight. "Can I ask your name?"
"I am Caesar Augustus." The emperor replied. "Good to know you Brooklyn and Chamberlain Sil. That is a royal household name."
"Uh, come from royal house too." Sil said nervously.
"It is nice to see we have a new winged one in our midst." Another voice spoke behind them, making them turn around. There was a brown male coming forward to greet them. He was dressed in a golden silk loincloth. "And a special friend." He resembled Hudson's coloring but Goliath's size.
Brooklyn was shocked to see him but he walked forward to go meet the new gargoyle. They clasped arms in greeting in ancient times. "Hi, yeah, we come from royal households, so to speak. And you are?" Brooklyn asked.
"I am Primus of Caesar Augustus' royal court." The bigger gargoyle introduced himself. "Would you two like a tour of our fair city?"
"That would be a good idea, Primus. Show our guests around while dinner is finished getting prepared." The emperor suggested.
"Sure, we would love to." Brooklyn smiled.
Sil stayed close to Brooklyn as he followed the two gargoyles to a balcony. They took to the air and Primus led the two of them around the city. Sil was on Brook's back.
As they soared over the city, they saw that it was all near similar made from marvel kind of like the palace and more sandy houses in the lower reaches, the more poorer houses. There was a big market place that were still doing businesses. Fires lit the pathways.
"Wow, this sure is quite a place, Primus." Brooklyn declared happily.
"It is indeed." Primus said.
"Where are other gargoyles?" Sil asked.
