2198 – Queen Florence Island and New York
Sil and Brooklyn were next deposited in a futuristic New York. Here, they got to be involved in a clan again, descendants of their former clan too, including one called Samson. There was also the same Demona they had seen from Benedick's funeral time. A descendant of Elisa and Alex Xanatos and Owen was still here. Even descendants of Delilah and Zafiro.
They were offered future garb there too, but Brooklyn declined. But it wasn't long before they found out why they were there.
Alien Space Spawn attacked the Earth. Both Brooklyn and Sil helped Samson defend the world, though somehow, some of the enemy had gotten in and stolen all the gargoyle eggs in their rookery, that were days away from hatching.
Sil managed to follow them, and he took the enemies out. But he managed to get the eggs back. What was left of the Space Spawn saw that Sil and the gargoyles were a force to be reckoned with. They fled the Earth, for now. The baby gargoyles hatched a few days later.
Brooklyn and Sil spent a few weeks there. It was a new life once again, but they made to blend in. Sil was older and wiser now, at least by a few years.
Eventually, Brooklyn wore future garb. He wore a gray chest plate, shoulder guards, with his old belt on wrapped around his chest. His blue loincloth was under the chest plate so it wouldn't rub on his skin so much. He also wore gauntlets on his arms too. He tried it for a little while but eventually wanted to stop wearing it. Brooklyn just wasn't ready to adopt future garb entirely.
Sil was granted some mechanical wings of his own. They were attached to his waist with a special metal harness that would expand as he grew up. They were also a gift to him since he helped save the eggs from the Space Spawn. He finally had a pair of his own wings! Now Brooklyn wouldn't have to carry him anymore. But Sil wasn't parting with his travel pack for nothing. As long as they were still time dancing, he would keep it close to him.
The jet pack was a lot like Coldstone's. The wings were shaped with webbing in them, like Goliath's. Sil was just glad to finally have his own wings to keep up with Brooklyn. There was a pad on the jet pack that had to face up at the sun and it solar powered it to run. It was easy.
Sil wouldn't take his new wings off for nothing, except baths or swimming for fun. They were attached with a special harness just underneath his second pair of arms, his mid-back. His upper spikes were still growing in too.
Sil had been afraid at first to fly on his own, but being young and adaptable, he soon managed.
"You like your new wings?" Brooklyn asked.
"Do I ever!" Sil exclaimed excitedly.
Brooklyn was proud of Sil in the young warrior that he was becoming. He was facing a lot more battles and such, more than what a normal kid his age would face. Brooklyn still saw there were some traits of the Chamberlain in his son, such as his looks and how he talked at times. His voice was also changing, but likely it wouldn't be very deep. It would likely be softer.
In the few years since he had known young Sil, the Skeksis was still growing, and even as an equivalent of fifteen, he was getting to be nearly as tall as Brooklyn now, but still shorter yet. Sil had been measured and he now stood at around 5'8. His height would soon be complete, but he still had lots to learn like any young one.
Brooklyn was now forty-four years old. Brooklyn didn't always crouch so much anymore unless he was investigating situations from a distance or something. He mainly walked upright now, and his height was around six foot tall.
Sil had thought he was getting a new mom via Meryt in Egypt, but it wasn't to be. He saw that Brooklyn was more forlorn anymore. He could tell he missed Meryt. The Gate had ruined a good chance at love for him. Sil wasn't quite there yet to want a love of his own. But he had been glad to get to know lots of rookery friends in Egypt, and some in this future New York.
