Atlantis – 360 BC.

They were next deposited in a place near ancient Greece.

Fu-dog was a little disoriented after being transported elsewhere in the timestream for the first time.

"Don't worry, Fu-dog. You get used to it." Sil stated. "Now, where and when are we?"

They were attacked by human guards not long after and they were forced to fight to defend themselves. All three of them fought and knocked out the soldiers.

"From the look of these guys' armor, from what I remember, it might be ancient Greece or Rome." Brooklyn answered Sil's question from earlier.

"Still got their robing." Sil said.

"Good. It might come in handy if needed. But for now, let's get out of here." Brook suggested.

The red gargoyle picked up Fu-dog to glide. Sil now put his new jet pack to use for the first time in another time and place. They would find a place to rest or try to find out their situation.

They soon found a place to rest and caught some dinner by getting some apples off a tree in the woods. There was plenty of food for all three of them.

At one point, there was an earthquake, and it shook all three of them up.

"What was that?" Sil demanded.

"An earthquake, I think." Brooklyn replied. Fu-dog whimpered. He stayed close.

"But what caused it?" Sil asked.

"I'm not sure. The Earth moving." Brook replied.

They finished their meal and found a place to rest for the day. It was under a thick shade tree at least. Both Brooklyn and Fu-dog were stone statues. Sil was left to stand guard over them. He made sure there were no strangers in the vicinity before he settled down to sleep for the day beside his friends. He also put on his Roman robes when he awoke later in the day.

The next night, they wandered close to a palace garden and came across human guards once again. Fu-dog growled. All their path of retreat was hopeless when they were outnumbered.

"Take it easy, boy." Brooklyn ordered Fu-dog. "Stay." The gar dog stayed by him.

"What are you creatures?" One soldier demanded.

"We're gargoyles." Brooklyn spoke for them. Sil nodded. He could tolerate being called a gargoyle up until he could trust newcomers. Now that he was bigger, he didn't feel like the insecure childling he once was.

"Never heard of your kind. You will be taken to our king to meet and see what your gifts offer us in our attempt to save Atlantis." The lead guard decreed.

"Wait. Did you say 'Atlantis?'" Brooklyn asked, astonished.

"Yes. Now move on, strange creatures." Another ordered.

"What is Atlantis?" Sil asked.

"I'll tell you later." Brook said. "For now, let us find out what's going on."

They all were taken to a big palace. There they met their king, Leitos.

"Do you strange creatures bear the ability to help us with our spell to save our home?" The king demanded.

"What spell?" Sil asked.

"No, we don't. We don't know how to do sorcery." Brooklyn replied.

"What are you creatures?" Leitos demanded.

"Gargoyles." Brook replied.

A man named Deucalion spoke up. "Perhaps I can be of help to them, my king." He offered.

"Fine. But whatever their secrets are, report it to me." Leitos decreed.

"Yes, Sire." Deucalion replied. "If you will come with me and some answers will be revealed to you."

Sil and Brooklyn, along with Fu-dog followed the man to his workshop. They needed answers too.

"What is going on? What is this Atlantis?" Sil asked in confusion.

"Our island has been foretold about its death. We're trying to stop it. Our king wonders if you could help us stop it?" Deucalion explained.

"Not that we know of." Sil replied.

"Are you of the strange creatures that roam our island at all? The rumor is that our gods have been battling for too long and they have punished some of our people with ugly effects. Turned into strange creatures as punishments." The man explained.

"No. We know nothing about these strange beings that you speak of, or any spells." Brook stated. "But if the earthquakes we felt last night was any clue that the island might be sinking, then it might be best to leave the island." He advised.

"We are trying to save it." Deucalion proclaimed.

"Trust me, Deucalion, it can't be saved."

"Why?"

Brooklyn knew of its legend, but he couldn't reveal it to Deucalion. They talked some more about the legends of what was going on and he mentioned some other strange humans that had been 'punished' by the gods. Brooklyn wondered what he meant by that. Perhaps it would be wise to contact them when given the chance.

Sil also asked for the year and where they were.

Deucalion was soon summoned to his king's court to tell of his findings. That was the time Brook and Sil broke out while Brook carried Fu-dog.

............

Soon, they met up with the strange changed humans in the city. They fit in perfectly with them. These must have been the ancestors of the New Olympians that Brooklyn remembered Goliath talking about a long time ago.

Brooklyn also told Sil about the sinking of Atlantis that was written by Plato. It was hard to tell what sunk it.

It turned out that they were so hated that it was better to get the heck off the island before it sank. They went and stole ships for the Olympians' escape.

The king wouldn't listen to reason from Deucalion that they needed to flee the island empire.

More guards were fought as they were leaving the island. Brooklyn and Sil held off the guards while Fu-dog was on the boat.

"I said I never wanted to be on another boat again!" Sil complained.

"It's crucial right now." Brooklyn said.

The humans left behind on the island all died from drowning. But the spell completed sunk it.

The changed humans adopted the words 'New Olympians' as to what their race would come to be called. Deucalion and his girl were just two humans that were saved. After that, there would be no more humans accepted into their ranks.

Brooklyn and Sil came back down to land on the ship. Fu-dog greeted them. The Gate soon decided to depart again, taking its occupants with them. It made sure to include all three of them. But the ships that had the Olympians on them moved onward to their new home elsewhere after the island sank beneath the waves. That had been scary. Sil was also glad to get off the ship.

The New Olympians soon found a beautiful place where they would build a utopia of sorts. They would eventually build their own city there and settle down.
