I walk into the house to find guards everywhere. What is going on? Luckily none of them notice Sage beside me, but they do give me an unusual look. I’ll go see him and find out but I need to check on my Mom first.

“Mom, where are you?”

“My room, darling.” I don’t waste any time and head up. I walk in and wait for the heatwave to follow, then close the door behind me, and then turn around.

“Why are you in here? I told you to… What the fuck, Mom?!” I turn to see her face more bruised than before, and her hand... It’s fucking chained to the bed!?

“Shh.” She stops me, “He caught me packing my things. Said the only way I was ever going to leave him was when I was dead, which he would arrange. Then one of the guards came and told him something about the purists having found power or something. He made sure I didn’t really hear any information -” I turn towards the door, and she yells, “Where are you going?” I guess it’s time to go see my dad.

“Watch her, and don’t take her anywhere until my dad has checked on her, which he will! Then take her!... Mom. Take only what you need. I’ll get everything else, unless you already have it all sorted.” I turn the handle and walk out.

“Kaiden! What - Oh.” Sage must have revealed herself. I hope the link worked, but as Nyx has one, I’m guessing I can tap into it.

“As you wish.” She says in my head. Good, it worked. I walk past many pack members who live in the pack house, and there are more guards around than normal. I knock on the door and wait until he yells ‘enter’, then I walk in.

“Ahh. Kaiden. Good timing, I have arranged for you to mate with Zara the day after your birthday. She is planning it as we speak -”

“No. I’m mating Zye.” I informed him. Shutting that shit down. He stops what he’s doing to look at me with a raised eyebrow.

“I was informed that he was waiting for his mate. Though I hear he found himself a filthy lizard girl to fuck.” He taunts. He wants to see if he can get a reaction out of me by being disrespectful to who he believes is my mate. I have to lock Spirit down, as he smashes to get out, snarling and clawing at me, as he presses against my skin. He wants to rip the old man apart, not caring about killing our Dad when he threatens our mate, but I manage to act nonchalantly and conclude that Zara has a big fucking mouth.

“He’s changed his mind. And yes, he finally found a girl he would fuck, and she so happens to be a filthy fucking lizard...” I hate having to say that and lie. “I didn’t have a problem with it as I’ve been fucking Zara.” I finish with a shrug of my shoulders. His eyes narrow at me for a second, and then he looks back down at a file in front of him on his desk.

“I plan to mate with him tonight. I don’t need a ceremony -”

“And yet you will get one. Mate him tonight if that’s what you want, but a ceremony is expected of the next king. You will parade your mate around for all to see, and have the goddess bless your mating! Then as soon as Zara goes into heat, which she suspects will be within a few days, or weeks, of your birthday, you will fuck her every second until it's over, or until she is carrying your pup. We need an heir. Zye can fuck his dragon if he wishes to have his own pup, or maybe Zara will let you both fuck her. I hear you’ve wanted a threesome. I’m giving you what you want.” He laughs. I have to hide my hands behind my back when Spirit manages to shift them in an attempt to attack him. He’s almost feral at the idea of being told who and how he’s doing things.
