I don't really remember the first time I was introduced to this ship, but I guess it didn't leave a nasty impression otherwise I would've probably lost interest very quickly. I thought about it for a little bit, and that's when I realized the evidence.
I never really had people for Jean and Armin to be shipped with wholeheartedly. Like, I ship Jean with Mikasa, but I also ship Mikasa with Eren and would really prefer that. I never really shipped Armin with anyone and I'm still battling myself with AruAni so Armin doesn't have anyone! I don't even remember what drove me to read a Jearmin book, I just did it. Maybe Jearmin had just been popping up everywhere and I just wanted to check it out, I don't know. ANYWAYS.
I do ship this. Very much. I began shipping it after luckily finding a really good Jearmin book that was actually good, so it didn't make a bad impression on me. Plus, these books make Jean the good guy! So, YAY! I really dislike it when people hate on Jean and make him the bad guy (which is probably obvious considering the other rants that I've written xD).
Just a reminder, EreMika shippers: Jean isn't a rapist ;)
Of course I have my reasons. I haven't read the manga, but I'm sure there're more canon moments within those black and white pages (hinted with gray). In the anime however, it seems as if they share the same views and that's always nice. They're both not the strongest people, though they're getting better. Eren specifically dislikes Jean because he reminds him of how weak he used to be. I honestly think that Armin is the stronger one in the relationship because he seems to be turning into that sort of all-knowing killer.
So really, if you ever wondered why I had trouble shipping Jean and Armin with anyone it's all because I was a Jearmin shipper the whole time ;)
