Sarada is always focused. Always. She's on an escort mission, so she has to keep the people being escorted safe, at ease, and as comfortable as possible. So the moment the earth suddenly disappears, she panics for them first, and then her friends and family. When she finally reunites with the majority of her friends and family, she relaxes a little. But the citizens of Oakridge Town are still nowhere to be found. Seeking her legal gaurdian, Hinata, she learns her Byakugan is unable to find them.
With her dragon slayer of a brother, however, she's been rest assured that they're alive at the very least.
It still doesn't make her relax, tho. There are children and old people from the bunch they were keeping safe. Fragile people who need to be in comfort. Either new to the world and/or tired from the world and simply living in it.
"We'll save them, Sarada, we'll definitely get them back." Natsu comforts her with a hand placed firmly on her head and pushing her glasses up a bit before falling from how low her head hung.
Shikadai calls out when they've reached at a dead end. "There's nothing! Wait, no. Something's off."
Himawari speaks up from behind, "I see Mitsuki-niichan! Behind the wall!"
Hearing this, Sarada perked up, suddenly remembering a certain reptile friend she had tucked in her pocket this whole time. She pulls out Tsuki.
"Mitsuki! The wall right in front of you, we're behind that wall. Just keep walking straight ahead!" Sarada instructs, looking at the white snake in her hands.
Himawari expresses enthusiastically, "He's getting closer, he got through with us! Jellal-san and the rest are following along, I think he told them we're here."
The plain wall before them then ripples as pale white fingers, then blue fabric, and soon Mitsuki's face appears. Passing through the wall as though it was water.
Sarada and Boruto didn't give a second thought as they jumped at their teammate, wrapping him in a tight hug, all the while falling onto the floor together.
"Mitsukiiiiiiii, you're okayyyyyyyyyy! Wahhhhhhhh!" Boruto cries into his shoulder.
Sarada found herself scolding the golden eyed teen with her face stuffed in his chest and squeezing Mitsuki for dear life. "You absolute IDIOT! We were so worried for you! Do you have any idea how much you make me cry of literally other emotions besides sadness and joy?!?!?"
Meanwhile, Mitsuki strains to talk but manages to let out some words after adjusting to their position. "I'm alright, Boruto, and I'm sorry, Sarada. I'd like to ask what other emotions, but maybe I don't wanna know– damn this is like the night we met again when Boruto came back. We were just like this– OW! Too tight– like a can of sardines. Sardines are yucky."
Somewhere in the back, Happy yells an offended "Hey!"
Scarlet-sama had gone off to check on Jellal-san. Iwabe and Denki were calming down Metal from a breakdown, perhaps (is he ok? What the hell happened back there?!). And she took a short glance at her mother running towards her dad. He seemed alright.
The group of old men with them (still crazy who they were when she realized) were notably waiting on her and Boruto to finish their hugging session with Mitsuki. She moved from the hug first as her gaze remained on them. She looked back at her teammates, still with arms wrapped around each other. For some reason, Mitsuki looked awfully...lonely and conflicted?
She turned back to the group of old men with a stern look. "Care to explain what went on in there, sirs?" She crossed her arms.
She caught Old Man Rai, Jiraiya, from whatever she knew of him and recognized, fidget in his spot with his head down. He bowed 90°, catching her a little off guard.
