Cosmo jumped in surprise as the lights shot on, all of his friends ran out from their hiding spots and yelled at him.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" Sprout was the first to come up to him, wrapping his arms around Cosmo as he spun him around; both giggling the whole time.

Sprout stopped spinning him around, he let Cosmo down gently and smiled as he turned towards the huge birthday cake on the table.

Cosmo marveled at it, staring at the beautiful lemon cake that was topped with white frosting. Sprout grinned and admired his hard work, it took forever considering it had two layers but it was worth it for his buddy.

Buddy. Sprout winced at the word, sure, that was what Cosmo was to him but it didn't feel right for some reason.

He shook his head and went back to focusing on Cosmo.

His best.. buddy?

Sprout squinted and crossed his arms, he couldn't fathom why it felt wrong to call him that, it sort of hurt? No, he could think about this later. Today was Cosmo's special day, he did not need to think about strange things like that.

After hours of play fighting, Shrimpo yelling at anyone that dared come near him when he was eating, a few games of truth or dare, and the whole 'opening presents and singing awkwardly' event at the end; the party was finally over.

Vee screamed as she was dragged away by Glisten; probably getting turned into a toaster for insulting Glisten. Tisha grinned at it and followed closely behind; wanting to see how this would end.

Everyone quickly left shortly, getting back to their wacky and confusing lives.

"So, did you have fun today or what?!" Sprout excitedly waved his hands around, he would usually try his hardest to make Cosmo's birthday better than his last birthday. He really wanted it to be perfect.

"Of course I did! The cake was really good too!" Cosmo said as he took another bite of his cake, savoring it's warm and fluffy texture.

"Wanna watch a movie?~" Sprout whimsically said as he flopped onto the couch, quickly turning on the TV and scrolling towards Disney+.

"It better be Hercules or I'm not watching it." Cosmo sat down next to Sprout; apparently he had gotten another piece of cake because it looked like he just started to eat it.

"Obviously it's Hercules, it's a good movie." Sprout typed it in the search bar, quickly putting it on as he grinned a tad.

"Even after watching this at least 30 times.. it never gets old." Cosmo whispered as he shoved another bite into his mouth, making Sprout giggle a bit.

Halfway through the movie Sprout was getting hungry. Hungry for lemon cake. He looked towards where the cake once was and realized it was gone; he whipped his head towards Cosmo and gasped as he realized he was eating the last piece.

He put on his pleading eyes and poked Cosmo's cheek, making Cosmo side eye him as he turned his body towards Sprout.

"What?" Cosmo said as he clutched onto the plate tighter as he watched Sprout eye it. "Can I just get a small bite? Just one?" Cosmo humphed and quickly nodded no, turning towards the TV without a second thought.
