✿ Chifuyu // Fated reunion ✿

I've been working on this fic for literal MONTHS. I started by writing it in my notes app, then I copied it into wattpad and I did NOT expect it to be this long 😭

I guess this makes up for the last year that I've been gone so I hope you all enjoy this extra long one shot! (It's 9k+ words..)

Warnings: implied abuse from an ex partner, alcohol abuse (from ex partner), mentions of cheating (from ex partner), smidge of angst but mostly super fluffy (it ends fluffy I promise), Y/N has a kid and is a single mother (I'M SORRY IT'S NOT GN)

The timeline is when Chifuyu and Kazutora own the pet shop!

The streets were buzzing with civilians and cars driving up and down the roads as you walked along the side walk with your son, Reiko.

You'd finally managed to spare a day off to spend quality time with him as you hadn't been able to in weeks due to constantly working and picking up shifts. You were making your way to a local pet shop that you heard about from a friend and decided it would be a nice place to take your little boy for a stroll since he had shown a love for cats and even talked about owning one of his own in the future. You always chuckled at that thought, but never really seriously considered it. Maybe once you found a stable job and could afford to take care of one, then you could make it a surprise for Reiko. You smiled to yourself at the thought.

"Mommy, is it that one?"

The little boy asked, pointing towards a store up ahead. As you continued walking, you saw the store sign that confirmed it was indeed the pet shop you were looking for.

"Mhm, it sure is Rei"

A little smile made it's way to your face when you looked down to see his eyes light up as he started to pick up the pace to get there quicker.

The bell on top of the door rang as you opened the door and stepped inside. Scanning the area for a moment, there was a counter in the middle, and an open way to the back of the store which you assumed would be where the pets were.

Very quickly a man walked from the back of the store to the counter upon hearing the store bell ring.

He had long black hair with blonde highlights tied into a loose bun, he wore a black turtle neck and some slacks with an apron over top.

"Welcome in! Were you looking for anything in particular?"

The man greeted with a warm smile. You looked down at your son and asked him what he wanted to look at.

"I wanna look at the kitties.."

Reiko said in almost a whisper.

"Hm? Sorry I didn't quite catch that"

The male leaned slightly over the counter to hear better.

"Oh! Uhm, he asked if you had any cats he could possibly play with?"

"Yes we do! There's a few of them in a room if you'd like to come to the back"

He walked from behind the counter and started returning to the back to which you and Reiko quickly followed. The man led you 2 into a small room with a few cat posts and climbing trees, and small cat toys.

"The little ones are in the room today so they might be hiding"

The worker chuckled as he walked around the room in search of the felines. He found them very quickly, they peeked out from the climbing tree and made their way out and approached him.

He picked up the small tabby cat and scratched it under the chin, before walking back over to you.

"This one's Mei, she's a little feisty I will warn you so just be careful not to get bit. She's the biter"
