The Chosen Cursed One

Zero's POV

     I can hear sounds around me, but I can't move. It almost feels like my body is made of cement. Is this what being dead feels like? I would guess.

     I can hear a very small voice in the distance, almost like it's just beyond my grasp. For some reason, the voice sounded familiar.

     "Come on Zero, wake up. It's going to be alright. Just wake up." The voice sounds so smooth and gentle.

      Suddenly, my eyes are open and I see those beautiful reddish brown eyes staring into mine. Those eyes that I love so much. Those eyes that I hurt so much.

     I want to move away from him, not look him in the eye as he stares at me. But the rest of my body is still frozen.

     "Zero, hey, you're awake." He says soothingly. He must be using the voice that nurses use when someone just wakes up. The voice they use not to upset them.

     When I speak, it sounds like my throat is made of sand paper. It's actually kind of scary. It bothers me.

     "Hi." I rasp before I start coughing. My body begins to have some feeling back. He smiles at me; that smile that I love so much. It makes my heart flutter.

     "I'm sorry Zero." He whispers, running his fingers through my hair. It makes me want to cry. He's giving me a pleading look, like he thinks I won't forgive him.

     "Me too." I whisper back and he sighs in relief. It makes me smile.

~Dat time skip doe~

     I'm sitting up, drinking a warm cup of tea on the bed; Kaname sitting across from me.

     "Zero I have a question." He says.

     "Hmm?" I muse, only half paying attention.

     "You whispered 'thank you' while Hanabusa was drinking from you. You wanted to die, didn't you?"

     Oh God.
