FLASHBACK

"this happened because you choose him..." he said and the girl scoffed. "we were close but then he started flirting with you and you choose him instead of me."

it's your fault.

END OF FLASHBACK

she woke up sweating again after so many old memories flashed in her mind, the same dreams again, surely insomnia became a thing but she knew her brother had it worse, sometimes she would even hear him fumbling around the house at 4am, it was hard getting used to this new life. They both had started seeing a therapist a few times under order of their parents, but it's not like it helped, Sieun would just keep quiet most of the times and Hyejin would just explode with anger at some point, she hated it. Their parents thought it was good for her to take some Judo and MMA classes to improve her self defense considering the only school that had accepted them, while Sieun they kept him away from that after what had happened, after what he did.

She walked out of her room ready for school just when her brother was opening the front door to leave. "yah! you were leaving me again!" she quickly hurried to his side, leaving the house with him.

The walk to school was always mostly quiet, her brother didn't talk much and she lost herself in the curiosity of looking around every time, but when they approached Eunjang High you could immediately hear the chattering and noise from the students, girls and boys walking through the gates to the school, and when you stepped inside it was even more chaotic, people playing soccer inside aiming the ball against some poor souls, Hyejin hated all of that but despite her temper she tried to follow her brother's words to not get involved.

"oh it's the twins" one of the players stopped as they were blocking their path. "let them through, move out of their way" one immediately said, and they did, but as they walked past them the boys kept talking.

"what was that?" one asked.

"i heard they were transferred here after the brother killed a kid... Even Choi Hyoman chickened out, he avoids them now, on the first day Yeon Sieun talked back to Hyoman and before Hyeoman could do anything his sister almost chopped him" the boy said and their voices faded in the distance.

They walked inside the classroom and it was chaotic as always, Hyejin took her place in the back, the first desk next to the door, it used to be Suho's sit in their old school, and she had forced a kid to move just to have it when they transferred, somehow it made her feel comfortable being on this spot, like she could see the world like Suho did. She sat down quietly taking her things out of her bag and as she was doing that a boy ran inside accidentally bumping into Sieun's desk.

"oh jeez, Juntae's fucked.." someone whispered.

"oh... oh i'm sorry... i wasn't paying attention, it was an accident..." Juntae stuttered, he seemed like the only normal kid in this school, but the bullies actually used him as a deliver man for snacks.

Sieun simply ignored him and went back to sleep so Juntae went back to his things and so the classes started. When it was break time Sieun left the classroom and she stood up but before she could move Juntae came to her.

"Yeon Hyejin..." Juntae quietly called and she looked back at him. "oh right... what kind of phone do you have?"

"huh?" Hyejin asked confused looking at him up and down.

"i'm just curious..." Juntae mumbled.

"iphone 12 mini, why? need advice to get a new phone?" she asked.

"oh right yeah..." Juntae said giving her a small smile. "what about your brother?"

"Sieun? i don't know, he just got a new one" she said. "ask him, he is probably going to the bathroom" she said and Juntae nodded before running out of the classroom to find Sieun.

she nodded to herself and walked out too going to the backyard where she met the only friend she had made there.

"yah Park Hayeon" she called out and the long haired girl immediately turned towards her with a slight smile.

Her and Sieun where the only people who wore the school uniform correctly, not even Hyejin did that, and both very smart, despite being quiet shy to befriend at first Hayeon was kinda good at defending herself.

"Yeon Hyejin finally! i was getting old here!" Hayeon said being dramatic as usual.

They spent the break together away from the chaos in the backyard until the classes continued, fortunately the ending of the day came soon.

"Get your phones, no announcements today!" Juntae said as he placed the phones container on the teacher desk.

Everyone quickly ran up there grabbing their phones, but when it was their turn she furrowed her eyebrows and looked at her brother.

"yah" Sieun called out and Juntae turned towards them. "have you seen our phones?" he asked.

"it's not there?" Juntae innocently asked.

"it's not, are you blind?" Hyejin started with her temper but Sieun immediately stopped her.

"oh really? that's weird... how could this happens? i just got them from the teacher office... i don't think someone took your phone.." Juntae said walking back to them and checking the phones container over and just like that he started talking nonsense like he was protecting his ass.

Hyejin just scoffed and walked out not wanting to start anything, Sieun followed her after a bit but walked to fast for her to catch up for some reason, Juntae also followed and tried to talk with Sieun about something she couldn't hear, but when she got close enough she stopped when Sieun just left Juntae there with a face of realization.

"what was that?" she mumbled to herself and quickly followed back after her brother.

Bad thing about losing their phones was that now they needed to spend time with their mom to get a new one, yes, they did live with their mom after the moving of schools, it was weird, their mother acted like it was all normal between them, like she never left and Hyejin had to bit her tongue each time, it went so far their mother started suggesting to send them abroad to study, she hated just the thought, what about Suho? the twins still visited him in the hospital, Sieun sat outside the room not being able to handle being inside, while Hyejin sat beside the bed each time, holding his hand like it would somehow give him energy to wake up.

"Suho-ah..." she mumbled with a deep sigh. "how are you holding up there?" she asked in hope the boy would answer her at some point, she used to talk to him every time, she hoped he would hear her. "maybe it's good you're not here to see us go through this... the new school i'm still not used to it, you know how i am... i have to hold back my tongue every time and Sieun made me promise i would behave, no more fights... and living with mom... yeah, you already know..."

that's how all their hospital visits went, Hyejin went there pretty often and even visited Suho's grandma when she had the time, Sieun he did go too but the guilt still somehow consumed him.
