EIGHTEEN: CHOI HYOMAN

As they walked up stairs the path was blocked by Hyoman and his minions who were bothering Juntae, Sieun froze as memories filled his mind, Hyejin felt like exploding any second.

"yah why are you two standing there? you're fucking scary" Hyoman pestered. "yah i heard you lost your phones... they go missing a lot around here, take good care of yours, right Juntae? or maybe if you want a new one i can give it to you" he laughed.

"this piece of—..." she started but her brother cut her off.

"move it, you're on our way" Sieun said coldly.

Hyoman leaned in with a scoff. "i don't want to" he said and Hyejin took a step forward, Sieun immediately grabbing her, Hyoman jumped slightly. "jeez... alright, yah move let them go" he ordered to his minions.

the twins went upstairs to their classroom that was still empty, Sieun went to sleep on his desk and Hyejin just put on her headphones in before it was time to end their phones when the classes started. Juntae came in after a bit and left snacks on both their desks waking up Sieun.

"what's that for?" she asked.

"ah sorry... i didn't mean to bother both of you..." Juntae said hesitant. "those are for you guys, cause you often skip lunch"

"take them, i don't need them" Sieun coldly said.

"yah, don't be like that" his sister slightly scolded while accepting the snacks.

"well... i'm sorry... i took your phones and gave them to Hyoman..." Juntae mumbled. "i really had no choice..." he said and Sieun stood up. "Yeon Sieun!" he called him before he could leave the classroom. "i thought about what you told me last time... that i was being a coward... i agree with that but i really don't know how to change it..."

"so?" Sieun asked and Hyejin looked between the two, not knowing what conversation they were talking about.

"can you tell me? how can i stop being a coward?" Juntae mumbled. "you're the only one i can ask... please..."

"Newton's third law..." Sieun started. "without an action there won't be a reaction" he said and left.

"what kind of advice was that..." Hyejin scoffed looking back at Juntae. "even if you're weak, don't be scared... fear is what they play with" Hyejin said and she stood up leaving the classroom too.

When it was time for them to go home it was already dark, the walk home was usual and quiet.

"yah, why don't you fucking get it? you got to Eunjang High so know your damn place and listen up assholes..." a boy in the distance said and that caught her attention.

There was a group of boys and girls sitting on the steps outside an internet cafe, two boys with the Eunjang uniform stood infront of them obviously getting bullied, were these people from other schools?

"shouldn't we do something about it? they are ganging up" Hyejin said and her brother turned his attention to what she was looking at.

"no more fights, we promised." Sieun simply said.

Hyoman walked up to the group, his usual asshole walk could be recognized anywhere, he believed he was so strong and then he would just piss himself if someone fought back.

"is Seongje inside?" Hyoman asked. "i'm Choi Hyoman from Eunjang High, i have a meeting with him, is he there?"

"huh? yeah he is inside" one of the girls answered slightly confused.

"great thank you" Hyoman said and walked past them inside.

"is Eunjang really joining the union? isn't Baku the top dog there?" one of the boys asked.
