TWENTY: THE UNION

The school was chaotic that day because Park Humin, also known as Baku, was finally back from his suspension, bullied kids were happy but bullies? not really, because Park Humin was the only thing keeping Eunjang High from going stray, still as soon as he arrived him, Gotak, Sieun, Juntae, Hyejin and Hayeon ended up in the teacher office.

Gotak and Baku started cursing at each other under their breath for some reason and Hyejin elbowed Gotak slightly to shut them up, the teacher scoffed.

"yah, be quiet, take this" the teacher said handing them some fliers. "you're going to do volunteering activities and you're still getting demerits"

"hey this isn't fair! Hyoman and his minions starters the fight!" Gotak said.

"yah! does this sound like a debate to you? punks" the teacher stopped them.

"it's true, Hyoman and the others started it, we were just—..." Sieun started but was interrupted too.

"Yoon Sieun, did those kids rub off on you? you punks gotta be kidding me" the teacher scoffed.

Baku took the matter in his own hands and forced them all to bow and started excusing the whole group until the teacher was tired of his rumbling and let them go. As soon as they were out Hyejin walked past them grabbing Hayeon with her trying to ignore them and let them solve their things.

"why are we running away?" Hayeon questioned but followed.

"i've had enough of them already for today, boys are boys" she replied.

"but Hyuntak was there" Hayeon replied.

"i don't care" Hyejin scoffed.

"i do" Hayeon smiled innocently and her bestfriend simply rolled her eyes.

BREAK TIME

"it's a good thing Baku is back, he protects all of us" Juntae started. "there is this thing... called the Union... all the schools near ours belong to this union of delinquents... there is a rumor that Na Baekjin of Yeoil High, Geum Seongje of Ganghak High, Do Seongmok and Baek Dongha of Yeonsung High, Han Chaeyon of Daehan High and many others have been operating like a real gang, Choi Hyoman has been stealing phones so he can get into the Union... but Humin said he wasn't interested in things like that anymore, so Eunjang is the only school out of it, so the Union kids are after whoever wears our uniform, Humin had to beat them all up... he protected us" Juntae explained that mainly to the twins, Hayeon already knew, she was just there to watch Gotak and the other boys play basketball.

Her and Sieun both stood up, and walked outside the school, setting in the backseat of their mom's car, they usually preferred walking home but after what happened yesterday their mom had started nagging, the ride home would be mostly silent until she opened her mouth.

"i don't want to nag you guys... but you should behave so the teacher doesn't have to call me, it's not that i don't trust you guys... i'm just worried... what happened before should never happen again" their mom said and Hyejin froze at the mention of it, Sieun noticed. "tell me you're not hanging with bad kids again"

"we didn't do anything, you're already pointing your finger at us without even asking for an explanation" Hyejin said.

their mom parked the car infront of their building and she unbuckled her seatbelt turning around to look at her daughter. "I'm not trying to—..." she didn't even finish, Hyejin was out the car immediately, so she looked at Sieun but he silently followed his sister.
