I am officially James Ryder's girlfriend. It sounds so surreal to the ears. It's strange that for a short period of time we are hopelessly in love with each other. Some people might find it unusual when two individuals fall in love so quickly. It doesn't make sense but it felt so right like it was meant to be. Who would have thought my second relationship would be a celebrity from the 1950s. There's got to be a complication with the timeline with what I did for sure but for now I put the thought away. All I care about is now.
As soon as we made it an official, James called Martin to share the news. Of course, he was overjoyed. Martin said he knew from the start we're going to end up together. George literally leaped when we told him. We also called Dotty and she cried over the news which made me cry as well. She was happy he finally was in a serious relationship and glad it was with me. My heart warmed as people approved our relationship.
James had my heart fluttering and leaving me blushing ever since we started our relationship. He would slip sweet love notes through my bedroom door. As soon as he caught sight of me, a kiss on the cheek was his unspoken greeting. His favorite place to be is with his fingers laced in mine. He loves the closeness of holding hands, often sealing the moment with a kiss to the back of mine. I'd swing by the set to bring him lunch. He'd light up the second he saw me and wouldn't think twice about kissing me in front of everyone. The crew got used to my visits and the majority of them I'm already close with. Luckily, James and Lucinda don't have any projects together which is a win for me since I don't want to see her but I know the news will get to her or maybe it already has.
Honestly, kissing him is my favorite pastime. I love the way our lips move together, like they've got their own little language. James never makes me wait—he's always ready for a kiss, no questions asked. Reading with him is never just about the book. I always end up tucked against his side, wanting to be close and quietly soaking in the way he smells—familiar and safe.
I planned to visit James again on set for his lunch but before going there I stopped by somewhere first. Walking into the familiar store, I scanned the room trying to find what I was looking for. My eyes landed on the familiar saleslady. I smiled as Donna excitedly rushed over to me; squealing. I chuckled at how thrilled she was.
"You said yes? Please tell me you said yes." She spoke with so much enthusiasm. I pursed my lips; hiding a smile. She let out a delighted shriek and hugged me. "I knew it! Oh, I'm so happy for the both of you! He planned everything to the last detail. I even helped him pick out a gift for you."
"So you knew everything?" I grinned at her.
"I did. Oh, if you could only see it. Every decision he made was solely based on how he sees you and what you like. It's very romantic." Donna let out a dreamy sigh. "So, what brings you here today?"
"I'm actually looking for a gift for James. He's been showering me with gifts and I wanted to give him something for once." I have been secretly earning money from the side. Anabelle gave me half of her payment when she asked me to help her with catering for someone's birthday. I declined, but she insisted, pressing the money into my hand and telling me not to argue with her. So, instead of letting this money sit in my drawer, why not spend it?
"That's so sweet!" she gushed. "What do you have in mind? I'm at your service."
"I was actually thinking of a necklace. Two necklaces actually. One with a J pendant and the other a G pendant."
A familiar glint danced in her smile. "You want a couple necklace."
"Yes." I grinned with a blush.
"Well, you're in luck. We have new pendants delivered today. They're at the back. Let me take you there."
