Ever been grounded for not dying? I don't mean like you did something stupid to get you into that situation. I mean something that was completely out of your control? Yep, neither have I. I have a push over for a brother. Yeah, Tony Stark...he actually has a heart that isn't made of Arch Reactor. But my heart...couldn't stop fluttering.

Today...tomorrow...the next day....forever I wouldn't stop thinking about that night. I wasn't in love...I wasn't even sure I liked him. But there was something about that blond haired man that I met at that stupid party that I couldn't quite put my finger on. But you know what they say, a bit of fresh air never killed anyone.

"America, Captain America" Tony said, pacing the living room. I roll my eyes as he goes on and on...

"You know this is all Pepper's fault" I say leaning back on the plush leather sofa. I didn't get a good nights sleep after last nights little 'accident' and I was beyond exhausted.

"Leave her out of this" Tony snapped.

"Come on. If it wasn't for her I would have been a safe happy little girl sitting at home" I say rolling my eyes.

"Don't you dare bring Pep Into this!" Tony yelled.

"She brought herself into this!" I yelled back standing up. I'm half a head taller then Tony so that gave me the blessing of intimidation. I could tell Tony wasn't comfortable but he sure as hell wasn't backing down.

"Emily. Sit. Down" he spat furiously making sure to pause between every word. It was all I could do not to laugh. He sounded like an idiot, well a bigger idiot then he already was.

"I don't think so. I'm going on a jog" I said walking past him. I bent down and quickly put on my sneakers but Tony wasn't going to give up that easily.

"Emily! No! Get back here NOW!" He yelled. I smiled a little and turned back.

"Or what?" I challenged. He opened his mouth, probably to yell a threat but he closes it again. There was a pause before he opened his mouth again but closed it just as quickly. I crossed my arms and tried not to laugh as Tony opened and closed his mouth like a stunned goldfish. It was hilarious.

"Yeah, text me when you come up with a good threat" I say turning around and walking out. It didn't reach the end of the driveway before my phone buzzed. I laughed when I checked the message.

Tony: 'or I'll trap you in one of my iron suits 😡'

I laughed and texted back.

'Bite me'

I then turned my phone off and started to jog to Washington DC. I know it a long way away but I'm not asking Tony for a lift, and right now...I don't want to be anywhere near home. To me, home isn't in Miami. I live in a room on the second floor of Avengers Tower. I never see any of the avengers partly because Tony doesn't want me hanging out with his friends and partly because I don't want to. Like sure, they're cool but I never wanted to meet them and after everything Tony's told me, I'm not sure I ever want too.

When I reach my intended destination the sun is just beginning to rise, Perfect. I stretch for about five minutes before beginning to jog. I'm not alone. There is a dark skinned man about my height and a blonde doing the same laps as me. The blonde was faster then both me and the other man, lapping us time and time again. The other man was a little slower then me but that's only because I've been trained. Every time the blonde would lap the man he would mutter 'on your left' and with me it was always 'on your right'. It was really starting to piss me off. So after he lapped me again I stopped and sat on the grass. The sun was up now and the place was crowded with people.
