Just When You Think Everything's Perfect...Think Again

I woke up and rushed to get ready, I was running late for school I quickly put on some jeans, converse and a T-shirt. I rushed and put on a little bit of makeup and brushed my hair. Then I ran downstairs and right wen me and Cherry were going to walk out the door my mom grabbed my arm and stopped me. She then gave me a quick lecture on how I should call her and tell her what my plan was for the night when I went out and found out what I was doing. "Ok" I said to her as I walked out the door with Cherry. I don't get it Cherry can do whatever she wants whenever she wants and never ever gets in trouble. It was probably just because I hang out with a gang of Greasers and she hangs out with the head Socs and dates the most worshiped Soc of them all Bob Sheldon, man was that guy such a loser. but anyways we arrived at school and I couldn't stand being away from Soda. I spent the whole day just going from class to class and talking to Evie. Finally the last dismissal bell rang and me and Evie walked over to the DX to visit Soda and Steve. When we got there, there was a crowd of girls surrounding Soda so I snuck up on him from behind and jumped on his back and gave him a kiss. Then he turned around and spun me around gave me a kiss and set me on the counter in the DX. Then al the girls sat there with shocked looks on their faces. Finally some girl broke the silence and said "Sodapop honey whos this girl?" In reply Soda said "Well this is Tammy my best friend and my girlfriend." Then all the girls just sat there with frazzled expressions on their faces. A few seconds later Soda piped up and said "I hate to be rude but I have to get to work so unless you're going to but something you're going to have to  leave." Then all the girls streamed our looking pretty annoyed. Once they were out of sight me and Soda started to crack up. Then we started to kiss each other when all of the sudden my mother walked in. She cleared her throat and looked at us. Me and Soda probably looked like a deer in headlights. Then she said "Tammy I have to speak with you when you get home." She then got gas and drove away. Soda turned around and looked at me and said "I should have kept an eye out to see if anyone was coming and warned you." "Sodapop"  I began "It's fine nothing will happen." "Ok" he said. We spent the rest of his shift just talking and an occasional kiss. Then when his shift was over we went over to his house and hung out with the gang. At about 9 he drove me home and gave me a kiss goodnight. Then I walked into my house and my mom was waiting there for me and she told me that I shouldn't be dating a hood and that he would only hurt me. I yelled at her and told her that she was wrong and that he was also my best friend. She Said that if anything ever happened to me that I would be sent away to a boarding school. I told her that that would never happen and that the gang ws family to me and I would also never let her make me leave them, by that point we started yelling at each other and then she called the gang "No good bums and hood." I yelled ''YOU DON'T KNOW THEN AND YOU NEVER WILL AND THEY ARE MUCH BETTER PEOPLE THAN THE FRIENDS THAT CHERRY LIKED TO KEEP AROUND." in response and she sent me to my room and told me that I was grounded until Friday. My good mood was suddenly lost, that night i cried and cried until I fell asleep
