They sit on the back patio doing different things, Jess and Mr. Nobley reading, Heartwright and Charming sewing embroidery, Captain East and Bradford talking quietly, but the conversations are dull.

"Why are we sewing again?" Lizzy asks as she fiddles with the mess of embroidery she has created, even sewing in her gloves she wears on accident.

"I just don't think we should waste our time with it when there's so much else to do..."
