Chapter 23

Mel's Pov

I quickly walk out of the kitchen. I was so thankful for the distraction.

I walk into the living room and see Julissa sitting on the floor crying.

"Jelly bean what's wrong?"

"I scared." Says Julissa

"Why?"

"Boogeyman." Says Julissa

I take a seat on the couch. She's climbs into my lap.

"There's no boogeyman."

"Uh huh." Says Julissa

She points up at the tv.

"Why are you watching Syfy that's a scary channel. I told you about changing the channel while I'm gone."

"I sleepy." Says Julissa

"Yes you are. Mommys tired too. You wanna sleep with me?"

"Yes please." Says Julissa

"Come on let's go."

She's wraps her arms around my neck. I sneak past the kitchen. Correction I to sneak past the kitchen that is until Leah caught me.

"Hey where are you going?" Asks Leah

"To bed me and my baby are tired. Don't even think about talking that mess in front of her. You lucky I'm not kicking you out right now. We'll talk about this tomorrow. Please leave me alone until then."

I brush past her and walk up the steps.

"Bye auntie." Says Julissa over my shoulder.

"Bye cutie." Says Leah

"Mommy?" Asks Julissa

"Yes jelly bean?"

I start taking her clothes off and leave her in a pull up.

"Who is Will?" Asks Julissa

"Leah's boyfriend why?"

"Nothing." Says Julissa

"Okay. Well I have to take a shower I'll be back. I give her a doll baby to play with while I'm gone.

20 minutes later

I step out of the shower and dry myself off. I put some lotion on, my underclothes and slip into my pjs.

I throw my clothes into the hamper.

I hear giggling coming from the bedroom.

I open the door and see Leah acting silly for Julissa.

"What are you doing here? Get out I need me space."

"Sorry Mel I just wanted to watch her while you shower." Says Leah

"Just get out."

"Fine." Says Leah she storms past me and leaves.

I follow after her and make sure to lock my door.

Ugh it's like she's everywhere. 😭

I finally get myself settled for bed.

"Goodnight jelly bean."

"Night mommy." Says Julissa she kisses me all over my face.

I snuggle up close to her and we both fall asleep.

***************** The Next Morning

"Mommy wake up!" Yells Julissa into my ear.

"Stop yelling. What's wrong?"

"I want daddy." Whines Julissa

"I know it's been a long time since you saw him. Want me to make him come me over?"

"Yes." Says Julissa

"Okay let me call him."

"You miss me baby?" Says Moy

"Ugh don't flatter yourself. I'm inlt calling because your daughter asked about you."

"I can come over?" Suggests Moy

"Depends on who you bringing in my house."

"You mean Aysia. Relax I dumped that bitch weeks ago." Says Moy

"Well good for you."

"That's all you have to say? I thought you would of been happy." Says Moy

"I'm dating someone so it doesn't really affect me."

"That nigga from the mall! You just couldn't stay away. How do you do that. You just move on so quickly." Says Moy

"You did the same thing to me. Was I supposed to sit around and wait for you?"

"Yes. I still want to be with you." Says Moy

"I have to go. Just don't stand Julissa up that's all I ask of you."

I hang up the phone before he can say anything else.

"Daddy's here." Yells Julissa she runs towards the door.

I unlock it and let him in.

"Daddyyy." Yells Julissa

"Hi baby." Says Moy

He bends down and picks her up.

"Look how happy she is. You need to visit her more often and don't have no lil groupies around my child either."

"I'll admit Aysia and Julissa never really got along. Now that we're getting back together you won't have to worry about girls." Says Moy without a care in the world.

"Hahaha you're funny."

"Mommy love Manny." Says Julissa giggling.

"Shhh Julissa."

I can't believe she just ratted me out. 😭

"You can say goodbye to sleeping with me jelly bean."

"Noo mommy!" Yells Julissa

"Thanks for telling daddy. We don't keep secrets. Good girl." Says Moy giving her a kiss.

I swear she's such a daddy's girl. 😒

"You know you don't have to stay. You can take her with you."

Shamoy has been here all day and he driving me nuts.

"You want daddy to leave?" He asks turning towards Julissa.

"Noooo." Yells Julissa

"She wants us to all be together. I'll leave when I'm good and ready." Says Moy

He goes back to braiding Julissa's hair.

"Ugh fine but don't get comfortable you live with Aysia your sidechick remember?"

"Correction I used to live with her. Now that I got rid of her I can move back in." Says Moy

"Daddy come home?" Asks Julissa getting excited.

"Why did you do that? Now you're getting her hopes up for nothing."

"Why you making this so hard? Can't you see she wants me here?" Yells Moy

There's no getting through to this man. It's going to be a long night.
