Scott PoV:

I'm relieved that I've had no vomiting or symptoms of pregnancy since Vince and I, erm.. did that thing. Maybe in the future, my views on it will be different. I don't know. Anyways, I said that I would go and get food for myself, while Vince went off to hunt mice and rabbits. Now that the weather had warmed up they were more common, so he wouldn't have to catch loads of mice. I just shrugged, dumping a few loose papers out of my bag, and wandering around, looking for bushes or plants laden with the fruit that Vincent brings for me. I find one where the fruit is perfectly ripe, picking as many as my bag can hold, and even beginning to fill the basket as well. I move on to the next plant, the basket growing heavier. Once it's filled to the limit and then some, I start to retrace my steps back to the cave. That is, until I hear a very distinct growl. I don't know what it is, but I don't think I want to look. I start walking faster, hoping to soon break into a run. As soon as I do, though, a large amount of weight pushes me to the ground. Trying to move only digs, what I assume are nails, into my back. I whimper, feeling the creature's hot breath on my neck. I do the only thing I really can do; "VINCENT!" I screech, hoping he hears me. "V-VINCENT, HELP! PLEASE!!"

Vince PoV:

I'm putting a freshly killed rabbit into a bag, when I faintly hear, "VINCENT!" My eyes widen, and I drop the rabbit. 'Scott's in trouble!' I take off in the direction of his scream, mowing down anything that gets in my way. "V-VINCENT, HELP! PLEASE!!" I try and speed up, eventually finding my poor Scotty. A wolf twice his size has him pinned to the ground, snarling and baring it's teeth. I hiss at it, before charging it and sinking my own nails into it's neck. It whimpers, and I throw it, watching it land in a nearby pond. Probably going to be dead soon. I gently lift Scott into my arms, my heart giving a painful twinge as I see the blood running down his back. "Th-The basket..?" he asks. I pick that up too, starting for home. He nuzzles into my arm. "Th-Thank you for saving me, V-Vinny..." I look down at him, and say, "You're welcome. We need to get you a weapon, so you can defend yourself better." He nods weakly, as we reach the cave. I lay him gently on the blanket, (from when Scott was 'freezing') and go to grab a first aid kit. I acquired it after an encounter with another human. He tried to run me through, so I ate him alive. Seems fair enough. I find it and return to my Scotty, taking his torn up shirt off and laying him on his belly.

"This is gonna sting, Scott," I say, getting a cloth wet with peroxide. He nods, laying his head on his arms. I start cleaning the long, deep scratch marks, only to hear Scott whimpering quietly. I cringe at this, hating to have to hurt him like this. There's four claw marks on both shoulders, going down to the middle of his back. 'Hope the damned thing does die,' I think, remembering the thing splashing into the water. After quite a lot of moaning and groaning, I get both sets of wounds cleaned properly. After that I heavily bandage his shoulders and mid-section, telling him that I'm finished. I decide to keep the kit around, since we'll have to change the bandages and everything. Scott sits up, crawling onto where my lap would be, allowing me to hold onto him like a child. "Th-Thanks for the patch job, Doctor," Scott says with a smile. I smile back, before bending down and planting a kiss on his forehead. "I'm guessing my shirt's pretty trashed?" he asks. I pick it up, seeing long ters through his jacket and shirt. "Maybe we can fix that soon, okay?" I say, tossing the torn up thing to the side, grabbing the blanket and putting it over Scotty. He nods, and I pick up one of the fruits he picked, handing it to him. He munches on it, getting the juice all over his face, which I happily lick up. He doesn't protest, either, so I'm happy about that.

Wait, I think... I think I kept that human's sword! Maybe Scott can have it, so he isn't completely defenseless out in the forest. I'll do it later, I don't want to ruin this moment. I'm pulled away from my thoughts when Scott shoves a mouse in my mouth. He actually touched it? Hmm, that's a first for him. I pull the thing into my mouth, swallowing it whole. "Thank you, Scotty." He looks into my bag. "I thought you had gotten rabbits..?" he says. I shrug. "I think you're way more important than some stupid rabbit. There's loads of those, Scotty; but there's only one you." He blushes a bit and smiles, gently raising his arms and hugging me. I hug right back, carefully though. He lets go, and wraps himself up in the blanket. "Here, let me go get something for you," I say, setting him down gently, going to see if I do in fact still have that sword. I eventually find it, still coated in some of my blood. "That's no good," I say, going to the small pond to clean it. It looks great now, so I sheath it and bring it to Scott. "This is for you. This way i I'm not around, you can defend yourself." what can I say; it's not considered 'theft' if the person it belonged to is now dead. "Wow, my friend had a sword just like this...!" Ulp... whoops... He doesn't need to know where I got it, then...

Hi again, so I had some time this evening to write another chapter. I think it's the first time I've exceeded one thousand words as well. Yay! XD Anyways hope you liked it, and the next chapter will definitely not take so long to write as chapter 5's ending. :)
